Publisher's description of CallZap
From Softwarevolution:CallZap uses your computer modem and caller-ID service to monitor and block unwanted calls automatically. CallZap allows you to add any name or phone number to the block list. When a call comes in, CallZap searches your block list for the caller s name or number, and if the caller is found, CallZap terminates the call immediately. CallZap also allows you to block unknown and private callers.

Version: CallZap 2.2
"Not Bad, But Needs some features"
Pros: You can set it up to hang up on any number and/or name (as identified by CallerID). It also serves to log all calls coming into your line, which is a good feature.
Cons: The phone still rings at least once before the CallZap gets it. Better than nothing, but ideally we'd all want to zap the call without any ring. This software also needs an optional feature which would allow you to play a message to the caller saying "This number does not accept your calls. Please take this number off your list"

Version: CallZap 2.2
"It's a Simple solution for blocking calls you can't tolerate."
Pros: I like having my own control with calls with CallZap. You can block by full name, partial name, full number or partial number. You can block unkown and private calls too. By the time the first ring has completed, the blocked call will be zapped!
Cons: Although CallZap is a good simple program to use, it could still use some tweaking. You can't leave the program running if you want to connect to the internet via dial-up from a remote computer in your network. You must turn off the program to connect to the internet via dial-up. Then you must remember to turn the program back on when you disconnect from the internet. Another feature I wish CallZap had is... audible alerts/rings (different rings or voices). With audible alerts you could turn off all the ringers on the phones in the house and just turn up the volume on your PC. Plus with a feature like that, you would have more control over incoming calls by allowing only non-blocked calls to ring (it would eliminate the one ring you have to hear for blocked calls). So there, maybe Softwarevolution will put that on their "to do" list.

Version: CallZap 2.2
Summary: When setting up CallZap, I selected to block "unknown" calls and "private" calls. I am still receiving calls that my caller i.d. show as "Unknown Name Unavailable Number".
