You won't get pricked by this helpful e-mail spam filter, but training it to recognize spam takes a little patience. Cactus Spam Filter's interface is a lesson in simplicity, with plain text and logical controls. The program's installation had to be one of the easiest we've found in this genre. The filter works almost instantly for 12 major and minor e-mail clients.
That said, you still have to train the filter to recognize spam. If you already have hundreds of spam e-mails in your deleted folder, you'll jumpstart the training process by choosing an e-mail in Cactus Spam Filter's Training Arena and clicking "Spam" or "Good." After following that process a couple hundred times, the utility becomes proficient in finding spam.
With select e-mail clients, you can choose to automatically place the found spam in a special folder or automatically delete it. No matter where you put the e-mail, the program alters the e-mail's subject line to identify it as spam.
The user's manual barely takes up a page, but that's a testament to how easy the program is to use. A few potential users will be disappointed that it only filters POP3 clients. Nevertheless, anyone who uses an e-mail client will find this freeware easy to install and use. Simply put, Cactus Spam Filter dries up your spam.

Version: Cactus Spam Filter 2.13
Pros: May be great with Email "Clients" such as Outlook or Pegasus, but worth remembering it only works for clients and NOT the likes of Hotmail etc, so remember before you download.
Cons: YET MORE DECEPTION:
1. It DOES NOT work on Hotmail or Yahoo and doesn't allow you to add them.
2. It deceives you by pretending to have an email link to "contact us". This does not work.
3. Settings page is elusive once installed.
Altho, this does only apply ONLY to email `clients', not Yahoo! or Hotmail, it is worth remembering that advertising is indeed "Corporate Lieing" and totally all about deceiving the public into using their product. Thats their business.

Version: Cactus Spam Filter 2.13
Pros: I used this tool in my wife's PC with Incredimail since they charge a lot of money to protect you from spam.
It does its work perfectly well.
For a free product, its easy to use if you read a bit further than one usually does.
Cons: If you keep mails in a training folder, you keep viruses arrived there too, so be carefull although that may not be dangerous as long as you don't open the attachments.

Version: Cactus Spam Filter 2.13
"Great freeware spam filter ! One of the best around the web !"
Pros: Small lightweight program, easy to use interface, newbie friendly and the best of all : it's FREE !!!
Cons: None that I can think of.
Except maybe support for Hotmail and other webmail services would be good in future versions.
Sometimes gives a "This folder is being processed" message when you open your e-mail client( in my case Mozilla Thunderbird ).
This is only a minor thing, it doesn't happen every day, though.
