Editors' review

Not only does this utility provide comprehensive data about your CPU, it also tracks down your processor's key statistics, although the depth of information provided may leave novices befuddled. CPUSpy quickly collects data from your CPU and displays your processor's name, speed, features, and cache summary in a small, tabbed interface. Moreover, it displays system information, such as OS version, uptime, memory, IP, and hard drive details. The program can perform cache memory tests, and you can set a time for continuous frequency checks. Feature flags and cache data are fully broken down for easy readability. However, the specs are way over the heads of many novice users. We were amazed to find out this utility has a built-in database of CPUs, where you can manually look for a particular processor, although it contains mostly AMD and Intel CPUs. There is also a database that contains OS details for a different Windows version. Computer technicians and system administrators wanting a complete CPU profile will find this tool very beneficial.

"Good app; Does the job; Filled my need;"

    May 27, 2008   |   By trevor.christian

    Version: CPUSpy 1.044 (DB v9)

    Pros

This application does the job for which it is intended - I was attempting to take inventory of some older machines.

    Cons

I don't see a reason to have to install the software, I believe it should be a portable application by default. Interface could be a bit cluttered and I couldn't find a reading on the memory as I did with all the other information I required
