"Pointless.."

April 23, 2011  |  By killer_instinct

 |  Version: CPUCool 8.0.12

Pros

Probably can do what its supposed to.
Easy setup, quick download, easy to use (if you know what ur doing)

Cons

Slowed down my PC to a crawl everytime at its startup launch. Rendering the purpose of this program... pointless!
Should have been made better, even looks are dated for such a powerful & vital piece of software.

Summary

Bottom line. I'd really NOT recommend this simply for the purposes of Over Clocking! Which is a highly unpredictable, intuitive, experimental (trial & error) and most importantly RISKY endeavor. Pros will tell you that if your BIOS/Motherboard Manufacturer doesn't allow Overclocking through their own means, then you'd best not to attempt such a feat! Other than that, a good amount of research and/or Google'ing will do you good, just to look up some first hand experiences, temperature/clocks guidelines based on make & model of Motherboards/CPU's, recommended settings used by ppl who've ACTUALLY managed to OC theirs! Otherwise, use this strictly as a LAST RESORT, as in moments after you've chalked up the dough for your new rig ;).

"SAME Startup problem! Detected as Virus on KS Pure..."

November 26, 2010  |  By killer_instinct

 |  Version: CPUCool 8.0.9

Pros

*Supposed* to be THE most recommended software overclocking solution.
*Should* have helped me past my sterile Intel BIOS..

Cons

Didn't even work...!

Summary

My header says all I needed to say. I could include one further detail, and I've looked on some sites n forums with users stating the same thing:-

Even after the mandatory reboot, at launch an error comes up saying "ntiopnp.sys driver missing" or something along this line. x(!

Updated on Nov 26, 2010

CORRECTION! I believe that the problem was due to my OS. NOT the Software itself. I am running a 64bit OS, this version clearly requires a 32bit one! Once again, my sincere apologies!

July 10, 2010  |  By chimerastoy

 |  Version: CPUCool 8.0.9

Pros

Cant tell you any since it didnt work

Cons

Doesnt work.

Summary

I had the same problem as the other guy, searched my pc for that file found it copied it to my system folders, windows, system32 and a few others including the folder for cpucool as well Still wouldnt work for beans,

oh and i had to use a different version when i installed this one CPUCool.exe came up as a virus warning to my anti virus which is pretty weird... must be my anti virus's fault i doubt download.com would slip up on that. If u get it to work good luck. I really needed this too, i think one of my cores isnt keeping up with my other cores causing my computer to crash... guess ill have to find something else

"Damages Vista's ablitly to communicate with PnP devices"

September 05, 2008  |  By sirallon

 |  Version: CPUCool 8.0.7

Pros

(Because I have to put somthing here) nothing is good about it except No malware or viruses

Cons

After installing this to a vista sys I lost both my DVD rom and DVD burner, I also lost communication with my battery backup. It dosen't eaven run on Vista.

Summary

This should have never been listed as supporting VIsta, and I would not waist my time to lab test it on Xp or anything els.

Use at your own risk
