Although it lacks a few of the bells and whistles found in other PC-cleaning applications, this free program offers more than enough features to make it a worthy download. CCleaner's interface is logically designed and makes it easy to wipe away your tracks from Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome from various Windows system areas, and from some third-party applications.
CCleaner doesn't support the large number of extraneous programs that some competitors do, but it can erase traces from such popular programs as Spybot - Search & Destroy and WinZip. CCleaner now offers secure file erasing along with a Registry-cleaning utility that quickly scans for invalid entries before removing them. CCleaner can even back up your Registry before removal, in case it accidentally removes a crucial component, and the download includes a rudimentary feature for uninstalling any program on your machine.

Pros
Cleans everything that can be wiped out in a computer. Cached files, temporary files, cookies, browser history, etc. Does a much better job than the disk cleanup option that comes with Vista. Also cleans up the registry and helps your PC run faster.
Cons
It can delete any useful cookies you might want to keep, so be sure to configure the program before you actually use it for the first time.
Summary
Recommend you include this program in your arsenal of maintenance tools.

This utility is fast, cleans out temps files, url histories you don't need, MUI caches, all that junk that clogs up your system that slows it down...and it's easy to use. I like the uninstaller function a lot as well. Very easy to use.
Cons
The registry cleaner is not very extensive but then Piriform doesn't make any claims that THAT is a primary function, but it clears out a lot of unusable extentions and such anyway so it still helps with that to some degree.
Summary
I use this all of the time and I see the beneficial results constantly. My computer is noticably faster, and when I install it in computers that are poorly maintained, and see it clears out 2 or 3 GB's of garbage, it's easy to see how great this product is. I like the cookie management feature, the backup to registry changes feature...it's just a great piece of work. Care must be taken with some advanced features, but if you stay with the basics, it's hard to be disappointed with this product. I simply love this tool and would hate to be without it.

Switching to manage Restore Points is slow as CCleaner has to access all of your Restore Points.
Summary
CCleaner makes it faster and easier to uninstall programs. Makes it easier to disable and later delete start up items without MSConfig and other complex processes. It makes it easy to manage Restore points, as well as making it easy to clean, customize, and manage the registry and associated files.
