Version: Browser Hijack Recover (BHR) 2.3
"Does its job, and it is free. What are some of you expecting??"
Pros: It works fine, and does its job. I have used this to clean computers for friends recently. The wizard is fairly simple to use. Why others insist on trashing this program for not continuing to protect, I can only guess. It is not meant to do that. You need a program like Microsoft Antispyware (free) to do that. BHR gives you a free month trial (unless that has changed recently) which is more than enough to clean things and secure your system with a program meant to do that. Many of the other programs mentioned expect you to pay for the continued support.
Cons: As with any browser hijack recovering program, it can be dangerous if you delete the wrong thing. BHR has a wizard which is quite helpful.
Oh, and check your desktop for IE icons, and delete them. Make new clean ones. They can be fake links and go to other sites when clicked on. BHR doesn't check those.
