Version: Blue Iris (Full) 1.55
"Intranet webcam monitoring very easy setup."
Pros: It's user friendly and easy to install and operate. It automatically detected my webcam device, so I didn't have to fiddle with any of the controls. It's default is intranet, which is all I needed, so I didn't have to set up an IP address, which doesn't seem too hard with the instructions anyways. It support various video formats, so I just changed the format to JAVA if a computer didn't have Active X. There's even an auto-refresh JPEG for the simplest of computers. My colleagues were impressed with it too, so I ended up buying it on the first day of the 15-day trial.
Cons: Only problem is with troubleshooting. Their help section only gives instructions for the different functions, but not from the troubleshooting perspective. Still, I was able to figure out the one minor glitch I had with it pretty easily.

Version: Blue Iris (Full) 1.55
Pros: User friendly, ability to have a desktop window, always on top availability, stable, great resolution, and the hundreds of other neat features.
I must have downloaded and uninstalled 15 programs before I found this one. All of the others crashed my computer. Not this one. Runs very smooth. It has everything I was looking for. Bought it within an hour of the trial download.
Cons: Can't seem to get the view through the web just yet, but I'm sure it's because I am missing a step.

Version: Blue Iris (Full) 1.55
Pros: I have experimented with more than 10 SW packages. This is it.
Easy to set up and use. Friendly user interface and complete set of features
from motion detection, to schedules, to posting of images and alarms.
It accepts video from many sources including webcams, IP cams, USB and PCI
video grabbers (even the dirt cheap ones you get on e-bay...)
It is also very stable. Now months of continuous day and night operations
without a glitch.
Besides professional security applications, this is the first time that I
find all of what I want in one product.
Including a very professional, personable and prompt e-mail support from the
company.
40 bucks for unlimited cameras? I consider it great, great value.
Cons: I would like more richness and flexibility in the playback, editing and
archiving of recorded images and movies.

"excellent works, motion detector works pretty good accepts from video card input"
Pros: does what is says it does, many formats to choose, many inputs to choose, works well. I have a video tv tuner card, and it records from the rca inputs to the card. works well, I would buy it if I didn't want to spend forty dollars.
Cons: a little confusing on the settings. I had to play with the settings a little for it to work, but if you are a little computer literate, then you should have no problem figuring the program out.
