The new and improved BitDefender scanning engines will scan and disinfect infected files on access, minimizing data loss. Infected documents can now be recovered, instead of being deleted. Suspicious or infected files can optionally be backed up into a safe quarantine area before being disinfected or deleted. The contents of the quarantine can be sent to BitDefender Labs, for detailed analysis. Files that proved harmless can be easily moved out of quarantine, back to their original place.

"IT IS A SUPERIOR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE!"
Pros: Avast! Home Edition is to a PC what a traditional Quaker State motoroil is to a car engine, reliable, but still not enough compared to a modern synthetic oil which is made for a modern car engine. BitDefender Standard 9 is super modern and it updates all the time and uses a so called heuristic detection feature, which means that it not only protects against known viruses (viruses in the wild), but also against many unknown viruses. It does all this very effective and have therefore won PC Worlds tests as the best anti-virus software (superior) you, at the moment, can get. It also prevents spyware from installing. Pros: The best virus detection tools for year 2006. A must have for your security. Please noe that, it has only AV tools and need to be tag with other security tools comprise of antispware and firewall. For this, I recommend to choose others like ad aware, Spybot S&D, ZoneAlarm, etc. The full suite just not worth to mention. Bitdefender only great in AV!

Pros: I downloaded 8 viruses on 3 seperate machines purposely inorder to test Kaspersky, NOD32 and BitDefender....NOD32 caught 4, Kaspersky 6 and BitDefender all the 8 viruses !!!! It even detected many spywares that KAV/NOD32 didn't detect !!! on top of that, it runs smoothly on my machine (p3, 450MHZ, 320MB RAM) so, it ain't a mem. hogger.
Cons: Scan speed is a bit slow.....but it's worth the patience !!!

"Good protection but crash Pentium 4HT"
Pros: Very good protection. Probably the best.
Cons: This software will get your computer a memorycrash if you have Pentium 4 HT.
I have tried this software on several computers P4 HT with the same bad result.
