The Bat is one of the smallest multiaccount email applications available for Windows 95/NT, but its small size doesn't translate to lack of functionality. Features include multiple POP accounts, true multithreading, MIME and UUencode standards, message notification, PGP support, APOP authorization, message sorting, message templates, the ability to minimize to the system tray, and multimedia support. You will also find a fast and comfortable message editor with text highlighting, as well as a mail dispatcher for managing messages on the servers. This is an internationally versatile program: English, Russian, German, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Italian, Lithuanian, and Romanian interfaces are built in, and now the program includes a multilingual spelling checker. Other features include automatic dial-up networking (configurable for multiple accounts) and an account creation wizard. This version includes a number of improvements, including more precise filters and fixed memory leaks.
