This app provides decent protection from banner and Flash ads but fails as a comprehensive solution. Banner Fighter doesn't really have an interface to speak of. Right-clicking the system-tray icon brings up the program's few options, which include enabling it for Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera. You'll also find a check box for closing unsolicited windows. We assume this refers to traditional pop-up ads, but in our tests, Banner Fighter was miserable in this capacity, letting most ads through. On the plus side, the utility efficiently squashed most banner and Flash ads that came its way. Banner Fighter might make a nice companion app for those who already have a quality pop-up blocker, but more capable programs are readily available.Publisher's description
