Publisher's description
From Willow Creek Software :We don't just make backups: Backup To DVD/CD makes the right backup, proves it's restorable, and keeps you safe. Sure, we save folders and files, span backup disks, compress files, make incremental backups, etc. But are you sure your backup has the RIGHT folders and files on it? Will you be able to restore from it if you ever need to? You don't want surprises. We make sure. For example, our Wizard creates a Backup Plan by searching your entire computer for folders with the kinds of files you want to save. You don't have to remember where you put things. Backup Plans also adapt automatically when you create, delete, move or rename folders and files, so you don't have to remember to fix them afterward. Backups can be fully automated and scheduled, so they're easy enough to do every day if you want. You can also check old backups to prove they're still restorable. You can even see what's on them with Windows Explorer, and open files on them directly from your favorite programs.
Version 5.1.200 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: Backup to DVD/CD 5.1.200
"Programs without uninstallers should be banned."
Pros: It will do everything it says it does.
Cons: No uninstaller. I guess I'll have to go find the directory and delete it and hope it didn't add any garbage to my registry. I also kept getting the "No CD" message because I wanted to backup to an external drive (so there's no reason to have a CD in there). It also looks antiquated, IMO.

Version: Backup to DVD/CD 5.1.200
"Folder selection is so cool!"
Pros: I've never seen a backup program that does folder and file selection this way - with other programs, I never know what's going to happen if I rename or move a folder, or add a subfolder. With Backup To DVD/CD, it doesn't care where you move a folder or what you call it - if you marked it to be backed up, it will still be backed up. If you create a new subfolder, it will automatically be backed up if the parent folder was backed up! I also like their heirarchical include/exclude folder paradigm.
For people that need the feature, they will really like the ability to create backup that can be read directly from Windows Explorer. The hidden benefit from this is you can restore from this backup to another computer without installing Backup To DVD/CD on the other computer!

Version: Backup to DVD/CD 5.1.200
"Gets the job done, quick and easy."
Pros: Simple, easy to understand, and flexible. I don't want something bloated, I just want a backup where I can easily tell it what to save. This program fits that description.

Version: Backup to DVD/CD 5.1.200
Pros: I've been using this software for years, and as I get better at using my computer I find it keeps growing with me. I have quite an involved backup scheme (my fault, not the program!), and it's very easy to manage it and make backups with this program. I've even had to restore a few times, and never a problem.

Version: Backup to DVD/CD 5.1.200
"Easy to understand, highly capable"
Pros: Has a Windows Explorer-like UI for selecting folders and files, but also a very capable Wizard to find things on your hard drive. Can back up to another computer over a network as well as to DVD or CD. Flexible ways to back up only recently modified files.
