Babylon-Pro is a very good multilingual dictionary and reference tool. Covering most major languages and offering a huge number of free glossary add-ons, the program has a bounty of features. Babylon-Pro initially tries to add itself to your start-up programs without asking, but it discreetly runs in the background once installed. Look up words or phrases from any Windows program by simply selecting the text and using a key shortcut or mouse click that is easily modified in the Configuration options.
Selecting single words or short phrases for definitions or translations works very well, but translating larger chunks of text directly from a browser is less successful. Longer text works better when pasted directly into the Babylon interface, and translations tend to be more sensible than free online services. You can listen to a computerized voice pronounce words in English, but you'll need to add more text-to-speech engines to hear words in other languages. Another helpful feature lets you quickly convert currency, measurements, or time zones. A vast number of additional dictionaries and glossaries, both free and for sale, are available from the Babylon Web site, and adding new dictionaries is simple and fast. You can even build your own personalized glossaries with links and embedded images. The full-featured 30-day trial offers plenty of time to decide whether Babylon is valuable to you. The wide array of features and impressive options for adding custom content help this reference tool earn a top rating.

Cons: Tried to translate an html doc from a Japanese website: Bridge USA. This is the 5th translator software I've tried.

Version: Babylon 7
"Too expensive compared with much, much better choices"
Pros: For casual, general translation tasks and non-professional translational reference, it may be helpful. Otherwise, way too expensive and redundant. Caution: Free downloadable, additional dictionaries on its website contain endless of errors and blunders. Can cost unsavvy users a lot more than its price!
Cons: It is a far cry from professional multilingual lexicons. The pricing is royally ridiculous. Their support is 'cut 'n paste' snippets only. Ask them and you get immediate nonsensical template flashbacks

"Bothers with ads even in there registered version! Spamware"
Cons: The spammiest program right next to Real. I purchased a Babylon license but even then, advertisement windows pop up. Now it even tells that the license is expired. What a terrible and troublesome application.
I cannot recommend this application anymore. It now plays in the same spam league as Real and ACDSee.
