Babylon-Pro is a very good multilingual dictionary and reference tool. Covering most major languages and offering a huge number of free glossary add-ons, the program has a bounty of features. Babylon-Pro initially tries to add itself to your start-up programs without asking, but it discreetly runs in the background once installed. Look up words or phrases from any Windows program by simply selecting the text and using a key shortcut or mouse click that is easily modified in the Configuration options.
Selecting single words or short phrases for definitions or translations works very well, but translating larger chunks of text directly from a browser is less successful. Longer text works better when pasted directly into the Babylon interface, and translations tend to be more sensible than free online services. You can listen to a computerized voice pronounce words in English, but you'll need to add more text-to-speech engines to hear words in other languages. Another helpful feature lets you quickly convert currency, measurements, or time zones. A vast number of additional dictionaries and glossaries, both free and for sale, are available from the Babylon Web site, and adding new dictionaries is simple and fast. You can even build your own personalized glossaries with links and embedded images. The full-featured 30-day trial offers plenty of time to decide whether Babylon is valuable to you. The wide array of features and impressive options for adding custom content help this reference tool earn a top rating.

Version: Babylon 7
Pros: It was easier and smaller to load than some others I have used.
Cons: First off - the price is not $29!!! Better you look for yourself! It also tends to go to 'word' definition rather than phrases. You can translate phrases but need to take extra steps to set it up. It did well with Japanese but lost it in Chinese. Perhaps European languages are easier.

"Whats the big news? Main feature doesn't work good here. Ver. 6 was better."
Pros: Basically a helpful tool. For 6 earlier ver. i would give 4 stars, but this ver. doesn't stable enough, or giving a new tidings for the upgrade costs. It's better to see it as 6.5, not 7.
Cons: First, the cost for buying is $55 and not $29. Upgrade is $39.
First, the spelling tool doesn't working good at Hotmail. Sometimes it does work, but usually the spelling window just blinks and disappear before you can review your spelling mistakes and correct then, or it will disappear at the moment you will try to roll down the email. If this feature doesn't working well, there isn't much new from 6 ver.
There are too much online dictionaries, and some of them just doesn't shown at the babylon dictionary management list. Therefore they can't be uninstalled. A bug?
Considering the problems at the spelling new feature, and the fact there isn't much new else, the upgrade price of $39 makes it unprofitable to move into 7 ver. But If you don't have an early ver., it is a nice tool for online translation.
There isn't real support at Babylon. They are promising 48 hours response, but you better expect to have respond in 10 days, and it may be totally ineffective. If you reply them for a second try, expect to wait another week or so until you hear something from them if at all. They don't have phone support. It's a shame.
Some of the currency symbols are not recognized. For example HK$, korean symbol, RMB, Aus$, UK Pounds (by word) and more. The currencies are existing, but the Babylon doesn't recognize some of the symbols.
One thing that is very missing, is the possibility to take a word from babylon to your text field by dragging it, or buy a small "copy" fast action near any word inside the babylon window. You can't change a word of your choise, while the spelling window is up if it's not a mistake (like adding an S for example) .
The spelling tool doesn't work inside Word.
And last, if you still want it, you can get a $15 rebate when you try to uninstall it.
Btw, the cost in US dollars is less then other currencies. Not clear why, but you can just change to US$ to pay less.

"Garbage. And they took over my homepage!"
Cons: The interface is unintuitive, it doesn't do anything that you would expect it to do. Getting it to translate takes a series of steps, the supposed one button translation of a highlighted phrase only returns a translation for one word. Getting an entire phrase to translate takes a number of steps, and then when you get the translation back...it's wrong! To add insult to injury they highjacked my brower's homepage! Now I've got to set my homepage back on top of having to remove their lousy program. Totally uncool guys, totally uncool.
