Babylon-Pro is a very good multilingual dictionary and reference tool. Covering most major languages and offering a huge number of free glossary add-ons, the program has a bounty of features. Babylon-Pro initially tries to add itself to your start-up programs without asking, but it discreetly runs in the background once installed. Look up words or phrases from any Windows program by simply selecting the text and using a key shortcut or mouse click that is easily modified in the Configuration options.
Selecting single words or short phrases for definitions or translations works very well, but translating larger chunks of text directly from a browser is less successful. Longer text works better when pasted directly into the Babylon interface, and translations tend to be more sensible than free online services. You can listen to a computerized voice pronounce words in English, but you'll need to add more text-to-speech engines to hear words in other languages. Another helpful feature lets you quickly convert currency, measurements, or time zones. A vast number of additional dictionaries and glossaries, both free and for sale, are available from the Babylon Web site, and adding new dictionaries is simple and fast. You can even build your own personalized glossaries with links and embedded images. The full-featured 30-day trial offers plenty of time to decide whether Babylon is valuable to you. The wide array of features and impressive options for adding custom content help this reference tool earn a top rating.

Version: Babylon 6
Pros: Great program, I use it a lot. Previously I used different widgets that suppose to do the same, but never found something as fast and good as Babylon. I'm still in the trial period, but they surely have a new customer.
Cons: Translation of sentences across languages is not the strongest point of Babylon.

"text translation- its about time..."
Pros: I had Babylon and used it for a long time. i love the software. the only thing that bothered me was that they didn't have text translation and i had to keep going to Altavista babelfish, when i needed more than one word, or to undertand the general idea of text in foreign languages. Well at last, babylon has the test translation capability.
Cons: i tried the text translation. its not perfect. but neither is any other text translation i saw until today. for a general idea of what the text says- this is great.

Cons: Expensive

"First time user - thank you Download.com, Babylon rocks"
Pros: In one click of a mouse button, in any application, I get quick translation and all the info I need on any word including excellent text translation. Most important it is immediate, focused and VERY simple to use!
Cons: Biggest downer - there is no free version.
I like the concept of relevant information in a click of a mouse; I wander if they can't give me more of that without compromising the simplicity.
