The BX is back up. New and Improved. What's different you ask. Well here is an overview of the improved features. Search, The search is no longer powered by Google. iFind iT Web Search from Shaggy Software is the new search provider in our toolbar.

Chat, The chat now opens in the same window or a new tab if you're using Firefox. It still runs the same way it used to, just a little change in opening it up. News Ticker, The News ticker will still bring you all the news you need, except now the information completely comes from Yahoo Extras, (formerly the tools menu), The final and best new feature on the BX. The extras menu includes useful links to our partnered companies. With the new Myspace drop-down menu, you can access all the good Myspace pages with a few clicks from any other site. Version 4.5.123 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

BX is another free toolbar add-on that promises to place all sorts of conveniences at your fingertips, but it never really delivers. If you've used any type of toolbar before, understanding BX's simple interface should present no problems.

All the standard features are there--pop-up blocker, e-mail notification, weather forecast--and all performed well. The included trace-cleaning tools for cache, history, and cookies also did their job. In terms of extras, though, BX falls a bit short. It has links to MySpace, but not to any other popular Web sites. There's a shortcut for games, but only one link is offered. The RSS feature makes for a nice addition, but you can't choose your feed source, which is a major drawback. The online media player is preset with several different stations, and allows you to add others, but it wouldn't play any of the selected stations during our tests. In a truly odd glitch, BX didn't show up after we closed and re-opened the browser window. We had to go into our Tools menu to re-activate it.

Our suggestion for those in search of a useful IE toolbar: keep looking! There are plenty of other free and fully functional toolbars out there.
