"Version 8.0 has ruined a good product"

After installing version 8.0
1) Avast tells me I have another virus program installed. I do not.
2) When I try to save an MS Word 2000 file, it says it cannot save it, and then deletes the file I'm working with. [This is because MS Word deletes the file, and then renames the work file, when you do a save. So, when Avast prevents the workfile from being saved, you lose the original file as well.]
I reinstalled version 7.0.1474 and the problem disappeared.
Of course, like all software companies today, Avast provides absolutely no avenue for reporting the problem, and therefore the chances of them fixing it are zero.
Time to look for another AV program. Avast has gone the way of Norton and McAfee, doing more harm than good.Summary

"I can't use AVAST! anymore"

None. I can no longer run AVAST without issues on any of my machines.
Cons
Long time AVAST! user, but (WINDOWS XP) all my computers have started running slow and having other problems which disappeared when I finally went to MSE. Perhaps they don't care about XP anymore.
The final straw came when somehow I got switched to the PRO version and asked to pay up. I could not figure out how this happened or how to return to the free version, so I gave up. -

web shield and network shield are make this antivirus better among free ones because they both features provide by paid antiviruses only.
Cons
Eset,kaspersky,norton paid are the best.

I really love this antivirus software. I don't have to deal with excessive conflicts. It's easy to install, has more features than I will seriously use. Haven't had a virus on any of my computers, smart phones, tablets, etc. (that I know of, and I have used other programs to check) I applaud Avast (pirate walks into bar with steering wheel in pants (arghhh! drivin' me nuts!) for their quality and diligence.
Cons
After several years, can't think of a major complaint. Believe me, If I could complain, I would... according to my husband. Thanks AVAST!!!

If anyone complains about this wonderful free service, then they should be made to "walk the plank"!

No pros -- I have been using avast for several years now but their latest update 8.0.1482 forced me to completely uninstall and use MSE instead for now. Am using Win8 Pro 64-bit. :(

BSOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary
Upgrade from v7.x using the built in upgrade. Within a few hours of having v8.x I started getting Blue Screens! This happened every few hours.
I'm on Win7 64bit Ultimate. No other software was installed. One of the crash dumps blamed aswSnx.SYS part of Avast.
I uninstalled with Revo and then manually cleaned out any left over folders after a reboot. Cleaned the registry with MVRegclean and rebooted.
Reinstalled Avast 7.0.1474 that I got from Old Version site and... no more Blue Screen of Death.
I think the Sandbox in v8.x had something to do with it?
I'm sticking with v7.x for now. -

I don't know what is with some of the people who have been giving it negative reviews. I have done several formats with my PCs lately and the AV has not given me any problems as of yet. I absolutely love the program, it is the best Antivirus out there, period.
