Version: Avant DVD/DivX Player 1.27
"Infected with several viruses"
Pros: None
Cons: Installs so much spyware, junkware and trojan horse viruses you'll never get to find out if it works. This program was created just to install all this garbage on your computer.
I am really getting tired of having to remove this junk from about half the programs I download from here. It should be Cnet's responsiblity to remove programs from here that contain viruses and they don't do that.
I'm not talking about adware. I certainly understand the right of software developers to make money on their products, and since some of these products are free adware is the only way to do that. However, that isn't what this software and many others on here have in it. We're talking viruses! Programs that will not allow you to uninstall them and continue to reinfect your computer even after you have removed the application. THAT is a virus! Not adware!(Cnet take note). Any reputable web site would immediately remove these potential infections as soon as it was pointed out to them. Cnet does not. Obviously they are more interested in appearing to have loads of software on their site than they are in protecting their members. I doubt that this rating will get by Cnet's censors but oh well!

Pros: Did not try this product because I make it a point not to group install SPYWARE with anything.
