Starting from the Internet Explorer engine, Avant Browser adds useful capabilities, such as grouped favorites, an RSS reader, and tabbed browsing. The first thing we noticed upon launch was the aesthetically pleasing skin that came as the default with Avant Browser, but you can choose from among many preloaded skins in the Tools menu. The tabbed-browsing feature lets you quickly switch among Web sites, rather than having to shuffle through several browser instances in the Windows taskbar. If you visit several Favorites often, you can save them as a group and open the whole group with one click. When you shut down the program, Avant Browser remembers which windows were open and launches them the next time it starts up. You also can automatically refresh all windows, or only the current one, at regular intervals. A simple pop-up blocker works in most cases, but it was powerless against some floating banners and other, more obscure pop-up methods. Overall, we found Avant Browser a great alternative to Internet Explorer, with useful features that make browsing even more efficient. Watch the CNET video review of Avant Browser:

The integrated cleaner helps users clear all traces and maintain privacy. The built-in Yahoo and Google search engines enable users to search for Web pages, images, groups, directories, lyrics, software, and news on the Internet. Avant Browser provides options for blocking the download of Flash media, pictures, video, sounds, and ActiveX components, so users can efficiently use their bandwidth and speed up page loading. All opened pages can be stopped, refreshed, closed, or arranged with one click. It also comes with built-in RSS reader. Its similar Web sites bar displays Web sites, which are related to the opened Web pages.

Pros: Very very fast, clean, light, very intuitive, packed with features that are either only obtainable in Firefox with extensions, or not at all. Many security options make it a much safer browser than IE7. Lovely uncluttered interface. Stable, low memory footprint. Some of the best features (the floating toolbar that appears when text is selected, for instance) are very different fro most other browsers, and take time to appreciate. When you are used to them, you may wonder how you did without them...
Cons: Some, but not all, IE add-ons are compatible. IESpell, RoboForm and Free Download Manager all work seamlessly, though, and they are all you really need. Most of the other thngs are already covered by built-in features.

"Good set up, but a memory hog"
Pros: I like the way this browser is set up and organized.
Cons: Seems to be a memory hog. I had it opened for maybe 10 minutes and viewed 3-4 web pages with only 2 tabs open and it used 50 MB of memory.

Pros: Great, very good, nice new GUI. excelent online storage and URL Alias, still having things that no other has
Cons: none, just that two heavy when playing radio streaming with media player plugin

"quick and easy, but not sure about security"
Pros: Avant browser is a very quick working and easy to use internet browser application. I blocks popups reliable , keeps track of the blocked popip windowsand makes browsing convenient .
Cons: It uses the IE engine and therefore is has the same vulnerabilities. Security is not given because of this. You must think about when to use and when better not to do so. (one star less because of this)
