Avant Browser allows users to browse multiple Web sites simultaneously and to block all unwanted pop-up pages and Flash ads automatically. The integrated cleaner helps users clear all traces and maintain privacy. The built-in Yahoo and Google search engines enable users to search for Web pages, images, groups, directories, lyrics, software, and news on the Internet. Avant Browser provides options for blocking the download of Flash media, pictures, video, sounds, and ActiveX components, so users can efficiently use their bandwidth and speed up page loading. All opened pages can be stopped, refreshed, closed, or arranged with one click. It also comes with built-in RSS reader. Its similar Web sites bar displays Web sites, which are related to the opened Web pages.

Starting from the Internet Explorer engine, Avant Browser adds useful capabilities, such as grouped favorites, an RSS reader, and tabbed browsing. The first thing we noticed upon launch was the aesthetically pleasing skin that came as the default with Avant Browser, but you can choose from among many preloaded skins in the Tools menu. The tabbed-browsing feature lets you quickly switch among Web sites, rather than having to shuffle through several browser instances in the Windows taskbar. If you visit several Favorites often, you can save them as a group and open the whole group with one click. When you shut down the program, Avant Browser remembers which windows were open and launches them the next time it starts up. You also can automatically refresh all windows, or only the current one, at regular intervals. A simple pop-up blocker works in most cases, but it was powerless against some floating banners and other, more obscure pop-up methods. Overall, we found Avant Browser a great alternative to Internet Explorer, with useful features that make browsing even more efficient.

  Pros: the most decent alternative to IE. fast surfing speed. innovative features such as blocking(all kinds of ads, pictures, active x, flash animation, java, sonuds. etc) drag-n-drop interface, online storage profile(store your browser setting/bookmarks online), safe recovery feature. and of course, it doesn't lack any of the essential feature from top notch browser like opera or firefox, sidebars, intergrated search, tab browsing, autofills, full privacy erasing. that's not all of it, avant browser has more neat feature like full desktop, additional mouse function such as mouse gesture, more shortcuts. plus with almost no incompatibility with IE which means you can use IE add-ons but cut the incompatiblity. a great piece of work this is. a must try.

  Cons: could use a phishing feature. but it would take up too much effort. maybe there's a few bug in there, neverless, avant is all good for me.

  Pros: This browser scored a 0 in my comparison of free browsers. Google "theymos" if you want to see it, it's the second one down. Scores ranged from -2 to 8. This browser is packed with features.

  Cons: It's bulky and annoying.

  Suggest that tomwas52 learns how to change Home page from within Avant options.

  DON'T DO A PRODUCT DONE BECAUSE OF YOUR IGNORANCE.

  "Neat, Tidy and Easy... nice functions"

  Pros: Relauch has tick boxes to all previous tabs and you can select which to re-open easily. Nice AD blocker. Familiar interface for previous ie users.

  Cons: Found "Do you want to remember password" and "Ask again for this site" does not work atall, it still keep asking each time... I'm sure if I did a bit more digging I would find a way to stop this.

  Cons: Very rarely simply stops working and disappears. Maybe IE bombs it????
