For those who like their customization in-house, the Avant Browser's latest update might appeal to you. Built on an IE-rendering engine, Avant takes off in a different direction--IE if it were being produced by a small firm instead of Microsoft.
The browser is sufficiently fast, preloaded with two dozen similar skins as well as tabbed browsing and modular toolbars that let you move around and hide the Status bar, Toolbar, Search window, and navigation controls. The Menu bar, though, is counterintuitively pinned to the upper-right corner, and icons for proprietary functions, such as an in-page search term highlighting toggle, aren't instantly comprehensible.
Avant can save personalized data online, making bookmarks and form content accessible from any machine. Around the same size as Firefox, Avant includes many features that are available to Firefox users only through plug-ins--such as automatic form fillers. The Full Screen view autohides all menu bars, a nice touch, but certain plug-ins--notably Flash--didn't work on Windows Vista.
Avant is a good browser with some nice built-in features and interface-customization options, but the lack of extensibility and Vista problems don't help. We recommend it to users who want a Microsoft-based engine but think that Internet Explorer 7 is a pain.

Pros: I love Avant, works great, also love how there is a huge collection of Skins, been using Avant for years and it only gets better!
Cons: Just wish there were extensions you could add like Firefox.

"I want my FAVORITES button back!!!"
Pros: Still you have all those nice features seen in the previous versions of Avant Browser plus now it's possible to add IE toolbars and plug-ins but has a warning message written in bold font and red color below that using them may result in fatal errors in the program!
Cons: Sorry to say this but I'm a sort of disappointed with its buttons as they look and read like the ones used in my Firefox browser! Even the Favorites button and its shining Yellow star is changed to Bookmarks (well, I hadn't updated my Avant browser for months so am not sure if these changes are done in previous versions or not). I tried to find a way to change this look of it to what I wished to see but couldn't find any option for it :( You may curse me or whatever but it's got a pretty serious look this time not the happy one with all those colorful buttons!
OK, I may get used to this but don't know why I faced a low internet connection upon upgrading from my older version to this one! sorry folks but I'm rolling back to my good old AB version 10.2 build 39 (though it has its own problems too) =D
Ah, one more thing, the shot provided in the screenshots section seemingly belongs to an older version of AB not this one.

"Just try it! You've got nothing to lose and a ton to gain."
Pros: Avant Browser is one of the few shareware applications that I've kept, and donated money to the author. AB is so easy to use, and so flexible - clean orderly tabs, lots of options and features that are easy to understand and customize,
About a month ago, I was wishing I had the option to "lock" a tab down; I like to have my personalized google home page up all the time. I sent an email to the author suggesting this. I didn't hear back from him, but two days later an update was available so I downloaded & installed the update, and the tab-locking feature was there.
I use this program more than any other - it's designed tightly, has no bugs or flaws, and, well basically it rocks.

"Wow, this is yet even better version!"
Pros: I love the easy access tools,(very user friendly!)to turn off the video, flash, pictures, sound, etc.Connect preferences, directly or use IE or my own proxy all with 2 clicks. Avant is very user friendly. This new auto fill feature even sways me more. Not to mention its true IE capabilities is right on the money. The scroll down home page where you have access to have multiple home pages is awesome. I can access all of them at start up if my old PC, would allow it.
Cons: Couldn't give Avant 5 stars due to the themes on the skins. All are easily installed, but most are pretty retro. Best ones are Opera's, Tobb's Theatre Paper and FireFox's Crystal Lion.
