Starting from the Internet Explorer engine, Avant Browser adds useful capabilities, such as grouped favorites, an RSS reader, and tabbed browsing. The first thing we noticed upon launch was the aesthetically pleasing skin that came as the default with Avant Browser, but you can choose from among many preloaded skins in the Tools menu. The tabbed-browsing feature lets you quickly switch among Web sites, rather than having to shuffle through several browser instances in the Windows taskbar. If you visit several Favorites often, you can save them as a group and open the whole group with one click. When you shut down the program, Avant Browser remembers which windows were open and launches them the next time it starts up. You also can automatically refresh all windows, or only the current one, at regular intervals. A simple pop-up blocker works in most cases, but it was powerless against some floating banners and other, more obscure pop-up methods. Overall, we found Avant Browser a great alternative to Internet Explorer, with useful features that make browsing even more efficient. Watch the CNET video review of Avant Browser:

All opened pages can be stopped, refreshed, closed, or arranged with one click. It also comes with built-in RSS reader. Its similar Web sites bar displays Web sites, which are related to the opened Web pages.

"Small download, fast browser and reliable-Add to watch list!!"
Pros: Throughout this browser, the options and layout are easy to understand while making your internet surfing more efficient and reliable. The ability to customize the tool bars with somewhat ease and the comfort of knowing all of the sites you visit will render correctly put this browser where it belongs, at the top. I am not going to compare this browser to non-IE based browsers because it's just not in the same category for me anymore. But, when I compare Avant with other IE shells/extensions, this one is far superior in speed and options. Clearing records upon closing the browser, mouse functions and blocking the non-essential bandwidth stealing adverts has made me a follower as Avant leads the current race. I have NETZERO HI-SPEED and there are different settings that I can choose for loading pages faster with sacrificing the quality of the pictures. Unbelievably, I can set the picture quality ALL THE WAY UP and still get about the same speed with Avant! That "side-effect" was a very nice suprise. A great full function browser. This is definitely a browser to put on your "watch list".

Version: Avant Browser 10.2 build 52
Pros: There are only 3 browsers I would recommend as a primary browser alternative to IE, and Avant Browser is one of them(Mozilla and Opera being the other 2). Avant is incredibly fast and full of features. Best of all, it's free.
Cons: Support and security might be a bit lacking, but this is still a very cool browser.

Pros: This quick, small, free browser adds features to IE, puting it in the top 4 though it is not as well known. Has many options and skinable, userfriendly UI.

Pros: I like the interface, its great that the package includes skins.
Speed is good.
Helluva lot better then normal IE
almost all of these features can be gotten for firefox through extensions...
Cons: Lets break it down.
Avant is what is called an IE shell.
An IE shell is just a package that adds more features to your IE
Why is IE so bad you ask?
IE has a poor rendering engine(its why its fast, this engine makes it harder for website developers and makes it impossible to read some sites fully) and even though avant covers ActiveX/Javascript(which aren't active as a default) controls when a new weakness appears in IE(as it always does) your broswer is still at risk, and your still at risk against Spyware.
although its alot better then just normal IE Firefox/Opera are more secure, and since with firefox you can get all of the same features(and more) and its a open-source project..
In the end Opera and Firefox are still king, and Avant is just a shiny peice of software.

Pros: The new build of Avant is really better. All bugs have been fixed and new features have been added.
