"Something I use every day..."

Pros
This scripting language rocks. The addditions of the new GUI stuff and the just the overall ease of use is amazing. I haven't "really" written anything huge since my university days and my first job. Since I've been wrapped up in hardware, OS, Active Directory, and Administration, my skills had become a bit rusty. When I transitioned a bit into image creation and automation, I started using vbs, but it's not very user friendly and trying to do GUI work with it kind of blows. I searched out AutoIt after talking to a friend who had used it before. Mind you I'm still not a code wizard, but it has helped me to automate an image installation and setup to the point where the end user simply has to enter a few items of information and the rest is setup Auto-"IT"-magically. From there I started automating all kinds of tasks for my end users and I couldn't have done it without this great scripting language. With the addition of the SciTE code editor and AutoIt's incredible help file and great forums on HiddenSoft website you really can't go wrong...

Pros
The best and one of its kind product I ever saw. I have worked in C/C++, Visual Studio and Java, but AutoIt is awesome.
Any Windows based application can be created in minutes. No more complex codings and debugging.
The best help file I ever saw with a product! Everything you will ever need is there in the help file.
Still if you are stuck, go to their forum. The most interactive forum and most helpful too!
Cons
I can't think of any thing!! Seriously, there is nothing that AutoIt can't do...hmm, except Linux based applications.

Serves for great fun when automating windows or building applications. New beta builds are released on a regular basis, each one better than the last.

As new functions are developed, you need to check for updates to the documentation.

There was no scripting task, that I could not to do with it.
Easy to make own GUI.
Very simple usage.
Cons
Arithmetical calculations pass slowly.
Lack of developing tools. (There are only two quite buggy ones). I hope, such a tools will come soon.

You can do everything with it.

It does not have an internal upload command but you can do this throught programming anyway.

You can automate lots. Turn 10 clicks into 1 click. I change power settings, cpu fan speed, launch programs, to name a few.

AutoIt is by far the easiest programming language to learn, able to perform many tasks that require much more confusing code. AutoIt not only functions as promised, but surpasses that promise.
