CNET Editors' review
Defragging your hard drive is an important part of system maintenance; regular defragging can improve performance by making sure that all the parts of each file are stored together, which makes it faster to access them. Auslogics Disk Defrag is a simple way to take care of this task. With a straightforward interface and a few useful extras, Auslogics Disk Defrag is a great choice for users of all skill levels.
The program's interface is plain and intuitive, featuring the classic cluster map that displays fragmented, unfragmented, and empty space. Auslogics Disk Defrag took 14 seconds to run a scan of our hard drive and determine that it was 17 percent fragmented. We clicked the defrag button and waited 10 minutes for the program to do its thing. In the time it took us to go make a snack, Auslogics Disk Defrag had tidied up our hard drive. We double-checked its work by running the built-in Windows Disk Defragmenter, and it confirmed that our disk was now 0 percent fragmented.
The program is easy enough for just about anyone to use, but it also has a few advanced features, such as options to schedule automatic defrags and defrag individual folders, that will be attractive to more advanced users. There's a well-written PDF user manual available on Auslogic's Web site, but most people won't need it. Overall, we found Auslogics Disk Defrag to be a simple, powerful tool, and we recommend it.

"Not the best"
Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 3.6
Pros
Does a good job of the basic defrag.
Cons
Optimisation really lets this program down, leaves files scattered across slower parts of the drive.
The reporting display could be better, apparently empty blocks actually contain files.Summary
Look elsewhere.

"Better than Windows defrag"
Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 3.6
Pros
Very fast & does multiple drives at once... a feature as I have a lot of drives... you can 'peek' at what you're defragging or just do select folders and/or optimize the drive... all things windows doesn't do.. oh 7 its free....
Cons
Not sure of the accuracy of the graph, but the drive seems to fragment quickly...
Summary
Very good for a 'free' program...

Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 3.6
Pros
If you want to see what it does, not just let it be, get this.

There are none.
Summary
Get this if you can't see what defrag is doing to your computer. Besides, it offers a free register defrag and fix.

Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 3.6
Pros
The simplicity of the conventional interface means the least savvy user shoild have no problems using the application,

In terms of comparative efficiencey, it falls a little short of a main competitor.

"Works way better than windows standard defrag tool."
Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 3.6
Pros
Makes use of the windows defrag tool, yet adds it`s own enhancing features to optimize and ensure faster input and output of files by moving them to the faster part of the drive. Really increased my computer`s performance even when defraggler said it was 30 percent fragmented.
Cons
doesn`t automatically clean temp files before defragging, but other than that a good program.
Summary
Very useful!
