Join your hard drive fragments together into a tight bunch with this freeware. Auslogics Disk Defrag's interface couldn't be any cleaner or easier to use.
Choose a hard drive from an easy-to-read pull-down menu, and Disk Defrag instantly displays the drive's size, and used and free space. The program even displays a pie graph for visual learners. One click starts the defragmentation process. The program's defrag process screen displays another handy visual. A sector map makes it easy to see how much of the drive is fragmented, allocated, or free. As the program churns away, the defragged sectors are displayed in blue.
We found the program fast, even on older XP systems. A handy HTML report is prepared after each defrag session. A summary displays the total files and folders defragged, while the detail section lists the defrag outcome for each file. We only wish a final sector map was included in the report. Novices to system administrators will love this easy-to-use hard drive defrag program.

Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 1.0.3
Pros: Since Diskeeper upgraded to 2007-Edition, I've been looking for a replacement. There's 2-3 freeware apps. that do a better job than DK, and I would say this is the best.No scheduler, but it's good-to-go right out of the box! Small & fast, easy & free....that's for me! I also use RegCompact.NET (freeware) to compress the registry and my old 'puter "runs-like-newer"
Cons: Scheduling would be nice, but it's no big deal...

"Great Improvement Over Windows Defrag"
Pros: Easy-to-use intuitive interface, very informative defrag graph, about ten times faster than Windows defrag, free.
Cons: Still takes a considerable amount of time to defrag, about 20 minutes compared to up to 2 hours with Windows defrag, also would be a lot cooler if it was like a whole system tools program that you could control startup items and do a quick disk cleanup from.

Version: Auslogics Disk Defrag 1.0.3
Pros: i was always looking for a speed defrag with no spyware that works.. this is good
Cons: missing a scheduler and maybe a registry cleaner since it all falls in the same range.. but i've rated bad programs as high as this one so no complaints...cnet should allow people to go back and correct old ratings

"Much Better Then The Xp Defragment Utility"
Pros: This is a very useful tool to maintain your systems performance. Quick and easy to use. After six(6) months of service on the machines I frequently use, I have been impressed with its service to me!
The software isn't 100% absolute in its duties, but what software ever is?
On the first run in what I like to call "Our problem computer", it improved my performance ten fold, or 46% is what it said.
Cons: For the most part this is pretty solid software, but I am not sure about the percentage amount it tells you it has increased in your system performance!
