BoostSpeed is an effective all-encompassing utility suite, combining some of Auslogics' popular freeware titles such as Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag with services that they don't offer elsewhere. There's an uninstall manager, a startup manager for boot cycle customizations, RAM and browser optimizers, file shredder, DirectX diagnostic, Windows tweak manager, and several mini apps to manage Windows settings. It also comes with a rescue center that can back up any settings before you change them. No doubt, BoostSpeed gives you your money's worth, at least in terms of services provided. Upgrading also only costs $10, for those who own older versions.

Are they all worth paying for? That depends on what kind of user you are. Most, if not all, of these features are available as freeware from one vendor or another, and generally one in each category is top-notch or nearly so. Some of the lesser tools, like the tweaks manager and the security feature, didn't live up to our expectations. Tweaks focused on basic functions and wouldn't serve as a replacement for TweakUI, while the security feature merely let me know that we had up-to-date security apps installed. Still, the convenience of having all these tools located under one umbrella was hard to argue with, and even the tools that didn't impress did their jobs hitch-free.

Scan speeds for the features new to us included here were comparable with those in Disk Defrag. Users also got the convenience of optionally setting the program to run at startup and live in the system tray, making most of the program's functionality no more than a context-menu click away. The most useful tools are the Disk Defrag, the RAM optimizer, the Registry Optimizer--if you believe that "optimizing" the Registry is more than snake oil--the file shredder, and the performance monitor. The 15-day trial comes unfettered, allowing you to thoroughly judge if this is a program you want.

"Not worth risking your computer system."

January 27, 2013  |  By graphicsports

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.4

Pros

Comprehensive suite of utilities

Cons

Completely ruined my hard drive set-up. Back up your hard drive if you choose to risk it.

Summary

I purchased this program a while ago, but recently replaced my main hard drive. I restored the backup of my system I had on another drive, and then ran the scan to make sure everything looked good. The results showed errors on the hard drive as well as problems within the registry. I clicked to fix the errors, and then the system slowed down dramatically.

When I tried to rebooot, Windows 7 indicated that a number of the files were corrupted on the new drive. It attempted to fix the problems, but the system still ran inordinately slow. Fortunately, I still had the back-up to restore the system to the point it was before I ran the utilities, but had I not, it would have been a real problem. I am going to remove this program from my computer entirely.

"Do Not Buy , Do Not Buy , Do Not Buy"

January 12, 2013  |  By AlexKABA

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.4

Pros

I Have not seen any!!!!!

Cons

It shows you thousands of problems when it scans the computer, and then when you need to fix them, it says only 15 problems can be fixed in the trial version, and you have to buy full version to get all problems solved??????!!!!!!

Summary

The funny thing is that when you try to uninstall this software, it keep ask you why, and then in the final step a web page will open telling you that you will get 50% discount and you can buy it for 24.95$ only

My advice don't Waste your money on such software, if you are facing problems with speed of the computer and other system crash and errors, believe me it is the time to even format the computer or recover the system, so get all your data out, and start doing the recovery or format.

I have wasted my money on another software = (Advanced System Optimizer) which did nothing to the performance of the computer.

So please don't do the same.

(Money back guaranteed) = (Catch me if you can)

"Hate the autorenew"

November 28, 2012  |  By gregoryirby

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.4

Pros

Don't know of any pros.

Cons

I installed this and rarely used it. I didn't see any performance improvement. Then a year later, they automatically hit my credit card to renew the license. I never signed up to renew the license and hate the idea of someone just sending me a bill for something I didn't want.

"Registry cleaners and optimizers do not work as claimed"

October 09, 2012  |  By wtfgolfing

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 5.4

Pros

Easy to use

Cons

When using AusLogic defrag, it produces a report indicating huge amount of registry errors and junk files, then offers for sale this program to correct them. I consulted a computer expert is in the computer retail business about this and was told these registry cleaners not only don't result in any improvement, but in some cases can actually reduce performance.

Summary

My information is that these types of programs are a money grabl capitolizing on computer owners lack of knowledge on what really works. He said that if Registry Cleaners, Optimizers, etc. were in fact effective, every computer store would have them on the shelf and they don't. He said not to touch them.
