BoostSpeed is an effective all-encompassing utility suite, combining some of Auslogics' popular freeware titles such as Disk Defrag and Registry Defrag with services that they don't offer elsewhere. There's an uninstall manager, a startup manager for boot cycle customizations, RAM and browser optimizers, file shredder, DirectX diagnostic, Windows tweak manager, and several mini apps to manage Windows settings. It also comes with a rescue center that can back up any settings before you change them. No doubt, BoostSpeed gives you your money's worth, at least in terms of services provided. Upgrading also only costs $10, for those who own older versions.

Are they all worth paying for? That depends on what kind of user you are. Most, if not all, of these features are available as freeware from one vendor or another, and generally one in each category is top-notch or nearly so. Some of the lesser tools, like the tweaks manager and the security feature, didn't live up to our expectations. Tweaks focused on basic functions and wouldn't serve as a replacement for TweakUI, while the security feature merely let me know that we had up-to-date security apps installed. Still, the convenience of having all these tools located under one umbrella was hard to argue with, and even the tools that didn't impress did their jobs hitch-free.

Scan speeds for the features new to us included here were comparable with those in Disk Defrag. Users also got the convenience of optionally setting the program to run at startup and live in the system tray, making most of the program's functionality no more than a context-menu click away. The most useful tools are the Disk Defrag, the RAM optimizer, the Registry Optimizer--if you believe that "optimizing" the Registry is more than snake oil--the file shredder, and the performance monitor. The 15-day trial comes unfettered, allowing you to thoroughly judge if this is a program you want.

    "Good stuff"

    by Anonymous220 on January 15, 2008

Pros: It doesn't mess up ur pc registry, for me which is equal with tuneup utilities. But functions still slightly different and respectively. I personally keep Auslogics BoostSpeed, Tuneup and Winaso. These 3 works great for me. After used Auslogics BoostSpeed it has an obvious speedup my pc, this is the main point why i will pay for it. Thank you!

    Cons: so far none.

    "Could be good"

by stonehkm on December 26, 2007

Pros: and it's features as described, but not demonstarted, seem excellent..

Cons: The trial is useless and I am not buying until I have been able to try all the features. At least the free version of Advanced WindowsCare Personal has most of it's features working before buying the Pro version.

    "Great all-in-one tool."

by CrazyPigeon on October 16, 2007

Pros: AusLogics is a great company, wich makes great software. Getting back to the point, AusLogics BoostSpeed is a very clean, and efficient tool to boost up system performance. And maintaining your system.

It has so many functions, like speeding up your internet surfing, boosting up windows itselfs, like optimizing your memory, and speeding up Startup, and shutting down. It?s even possible to boost up the speed of additional programs, like MSN Messenger, or Norton. Further, it offers the standard tools, cleaning up your hard drive of temporary files, cleaning up your register, defragmentation of your registery.

Further, it has a optimization tool for Internet Explorer 7, and stop banner advertisement on the websites.

It has almost all the functions to keep your PC fast, and keeping using the PC comfortable.

BoostSpeed has a nice easy-to-use interface, and comes with two languages, Germans, and English.

Cons: Would like to see a disk defragmentation function, wich should make it a program, that?s only needed for PC maintenance. And maybe more languages.

"The standard in PC optimazation is "TuneUp Utilities 2008""

by The Sports Fan on December 24, 2007

Pros: This program is provided by a good software company that supports it's customers. But, like I said, the standard in PC optimization, (customization) is "TuneUp Utilities 2008". This program is not quite up to snuff in comparison. It does have some nice features for both "XP" and "Vista", like speeding up shut down , speeding up other programs and a better browser optimization tool. The price is better then most but it lacks features found in the other mentioned program. Not a bad choice at all if you feel the need for two tweaking programs and want maximum performance from your PC.

Cons: In comparison, after cleaning my "Vista" registry with "TuneUp", this program found an additional 200+ errors(to aggressive). It doesn't recognize that i have 4GB ram, making the task bar icon useless for my needs, The disk defrag is a separate program where the 2008 version of "TuneUp Utilities" has it included.
