Very fast file transfers to USB-attached devices. Interface software available for many legacy phones and players. One-button link to My Library online.
Cons
Incorrectly reads the size of some add-in media cards. Quirky interface makes deletions and sorting difficult, frequently crashes. Lose a phone or player and there's no way to deactivate it without calling Audible.
Summary
If I ran Amazon, which now owns Audible, and wanted it to be a success, I'd fire the guys who built this clunky interface and turn the project over to my own software designers. After all, for web distribution of audible books, this IS the marketing channel; it can't continue to limp along on dated, breakdown-prone software. Given that the audio files themselves are encrypted, there's no reason for the file and download managers to be so lacking in transparency and so prone to problems.
