CNET Editors' review
Atomic Web Browser is a full featured replacement for Safari on the iPhone with added features to make it worthy of checking out. Its features include the capability to create an infinite number of tabs, use ad-block to get rid of ads while you surf, and turn on private mode to disable history tracking and clear cookies when you exit the browser. Customizable search lets you add or remove search engines so you can pick the ones you like to use most. You also can choose from several different colored themes, lock the iPhone screen rotation, and run in full-screen mode for unfettered browsing.
We wonder how many people will be interested in alternative Web browsers because Safari does a fine job on its own. But Atomic Web Browser is plenty fast, and the tabbed browsing and ad-block make it a worthy download. The app has a huge list of settings you can play around with such as multitouch options to set up gestures for various actions; the capability to switch from tab to list view; bookmark scripts you can add that let you jump around a page according to your specifications and much more. If you find Safari a little light on features or like the idea of tabbed surfing and several ways to customize your Web experience, Atomic Web Browser is an excellent choice.
Publisher's Description
From RichTech:
Use the entire screen to display a webpage. No wasted space on toolbars. The user can choose between desktop style tabs or a list view. Atomic Web Browser supports unlimited tabs. Simply hold down a link to open it in a new tab or a new background tab. Atomic Web Browser has the ability to block most ad banners through URL filters. To enable Ad Block, goto Settings->Ad Block Settings and set Ad Block Filter to on. Search engines can easily be added or edited in settings. Enabling private mode will stop the browser from remembering history and will clear all cookies on exit.
What's new in this version: Version 2.8 improved long press consistency, reduced long press time from 1 to 0.6 seconds, three finger tap now enters and exits full screen mode, and includes bug fixes.

"A middling browser app"
Version: Atomic Web Browser for iPhone 2.8
Pros
I used it briefly before iOS 4.2 was released. It was acceptable as a browser.
Cons
But, Safari, with Find in page and quick page switching in iOS 4.2, is better.
Summary
Not necessary, but okay if you want a secondary browser.
