This program has a nice array of nutrition-related databases, but doesn't pull together as a complete fitness planner. Athletic Assistant guides you through setup, gathering details about your current fitness level and goals. Simple tools like a Basal Metabolic Rate calculator help you assess calorie intake and expenditure to meet weight-loss targets, but trying to close the offered Ideal Weight Table consistently crashed the program. Once setup is complete, you can add appointments, meals, and exercises, but this database program's outdated controls aren't appealing and make data entry slow. You'll be alerted if food entries exceed your daily calorie allowance, but exercise entries don't offset your calorie bank, something other programs offer. Extensive recipe and food databases are a surprising bonus, but the Schedule Food Meal and Recipe feature failed to launch in repeated tests. There are more comprehensive diet and exercise management programs available, and novice users especially will want a more user-friendly design.

  "For only $20 !!!!"

  Pros: One of the best software programs I have bought for the price.
  The editor review is very critical considering the cost...

  Cons: I have experienced one problem and that was in designing a workout routine but I managed to work around it. I'm sad to see the softwre company is no longer providing support for updates.

  Summary: I have paid more than $100 for programs such as Nutritionist and Nutrisoft and neither can compare to AA2 for a complete program for both nutrition and fitness.
