The previous versions won praise for their intuitive ease of use and the inclusion of all the tools amateur photographers need to organize, edit and enhance their pictures. The latest version is a major overhaul, bringing more speed, better quality, many new features and effects, and an enhanced user interface. Thumbnail generation and display are now faster, and tools like the Frame Style Center, Collage Tool, and Calendar Tool help you create finished products with your photos.

Despite an occasionally troublesome interface, Ashampoo Photo Commander 5 distinguishes itself with its enormous set of features.
You'll find all the usual media-management functions for rotating, printing, and sending images via e-mail, as well as a media player. You'll also find basic drawing tools and features for fixing red-eye, tweaking RGB values, and adjusting brightness and contrast. The highly configurable Tools section helps you search for files, convert them to other formats, rename batches of files, create and view slide shows, convert images, compress images, produce screenshots for your desktop, make photo CDs, and prepare images for Web publication.
Although the customizable interface appears chaotic at first glance, it does show nice polish, and it's simple enough to figure out after a few moments of study. All in all, Ashampoo Photo Commander 5 has a lot to offer shutterbugs and image hounds.

Pros: Nice interface, easy to use (not like $$$$ image editing software out there), does exactly like it supposed to.
Inexpensive.
Cons: Many not so usable functions (or is it just me?). Should have better JPEG compression facility like AJC 4.8 or the latest Image Compressor 5.

Pros: The fullscreen image editing mode really kicks bum! Create calendars, collages and web photo albums in just a view clicks.
Cons: Not jet noticed any cons.

Pros: I can't. believe it but I finally found a peice of Ashampoo software I like. Like all Ashampoo sortware the interface is nice and it is easy to use. The features are what I like as well as the price. The ease in which it shows duplicate photos allows me to edit or delete duplicates I may never have found otherwise. The zoom feature is great and for the price I recomend this program.
Cons: It's not Paint Shop Pro but for viewing and sorting it's a good program. Of course it's not priced like Paint Shop either.
