Publisher's Description
From ArGo Software Design:
ArGoSoft Mail Server is fully functional SMTP/POP3/Finger (Pro version also has IMAP module) server for Windows 95/98/NT/2000, which will let you turn your computer into the email system. It's very compact, takes about 1-5 Mb of disk space (depending on the version), does not have any specific memory requirements, and what is the most important - it's very easy to use.
Currently we have three different versions of server: freeware, Plus and Pro.
Free features:- Is completely transparent. Runs as a small icon on your system tray;
- Can be loaded with Windows startup;
- Supports unlimited number of accounts;
- Supports SMTP authentication. Useful to protect your server from unauthorized use;
- as we mentioned above, it is fully functional server: it relays the messages directly to Mail exchangers, bypassing your ISP.
- Has built-in web interface, which allows users to check mail using any popular web browser from anywhere in the World
What's new in this version:
- Fixed a problem with SPF. When a SPF record contained looping include macro, SPF checking was looping infinitely;

"Excellent Software, I use the SW for Demos"
Version: ArgoSoft Mail Server Free 1.8.9.5
Pros
Really easy to install and very easy to use.
Cons
no IMAP Server included, only in PRO version.
Summary
I really recommend the SW to have a email server up and running in minutes.

"Very good and free"
Version: ArgoSoft Mail Server Free 1.8.9.5
Pros
excelent for intraoffice email. Suffient online help. Basic email functions.
Cons
Mostnly outlook is unable configure contacts to use a specific email account so I could not use argo because emails destined to the internet would be bounced by argo. Argo emails would be bounced my ISP.
Summary
If you want internal email or to host your own email is great. However if you want intraoffice email and some else hosts your email it will be tough. I like the program though. Not too hard to set up and it works.
