This powerful tool recovers deleted partitions, files, and more, but it could be a tad complex for novice users. Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery's interface is a lesson in good design. Information windows are easily resized, and toolbars and file menus are logically placed and everything is well-documented.
Novice-friendly wizards make it a snap to search for and recover deleted files. The time to scan a drive is entirely dependent on its size and complexity. Unfortunately, this utility doesn't estimate the time needed. You can easily stop a scan before it completes, but our tests took only moments for a 465GB drive. The wizard includes many novice-friendly options to simplify finding the deleted files. Restoring a recoverable file takes a mere click. Every step of the wizard is available through direct options for the advanced user.
Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery is flexible enough to handle most drive types and partition problems. The demo version is limited to restoring files of less than 64KB and cannot recover partitions. This utility is strong enough for all advanced users and can be easily operated by novices. Recovering files is logical, efficient, and speedy. We can easily recommend this program for all users needing to recover lost files and repair drive partitions.

Version: Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery 2.2.044
"Recovered 2 NTFS badly damaged disks !"
Pros: My disks were totally lost. Not only were the boot sectors scrambled but the directory tables were lost as well. I researched and tried (demo) others but none came close to solving the problems. Other products did much less and cost more. This is an excellent product and I strongly state that this is the best. It recovered 100% of all my data on both 125 GB disks. Nerd son (17) caused all the damage with careless Internet surfing which in turn caused these disks to fail. Lost xp os and all data. I am very impressed.
Cons: The logical sequence of steps necessary to do what I needed is not clear. All the tools are there but the HELP was not clear. Probably spent too many hours repeating processes but eventually got it all recovered. Still an amazing product.

Version: Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery 2.2.044
Cons: Wasn't able to find the vast majority of deleted files that "Recovery" (freeware, aumha.org) and "R-Studio" (not too expensive and returned much more info than Recovery, data-recovery-software.net) did.

Version: Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery 2.2.044
"A small and simple, yet surprisingly effective tool for data recovery"
Pros: Flawlessly recovered my important files after a partiton became unreadable (unformatted) due to Windows glitch.
Cons: Not getting it sooner (so much accidentally lost data could've been saved)

Version: Arax Disk Doctor Data Recovery 2.2.044
Pros: This program does what it says it does. It was surprisingly simple to use.
I was very nervous about tampering with the HD on my own, but with the help of Disk Doctor and a great Tech Support Staff, the data recovery and partition restore worked very well. Well worth the price, even if you only use it once.
Cons: The 'Help' section was good, but I felt it could have used a little more detail and definitions. Not a big issue, because their support staff responded very quickly to my questions.
