Version: AppRanger 1.8.8
"Affective against more than just spyware. Excellent product!"
Pros: Lockdown feature, which sets everything in stone so nothing can be messed with...period. Good application blocking, and excellent anti-spyware blocking. It's not heavy like other products out there, so my laptop boots just as fast as before (Windows Vista platform).
Cons: Only problem with the product so far is user error, or lack of knowledge of the product. The KEY to troubleshooting something not working or being blocked: Right click on app ranger icon in tray, and select "view blocked applications" and you can select the different tabs. The middle one is where I usually go, then right click the app that I want to run, and select "allow". Safest solution for allowing applications to run on your computer. Hope this helps.

Pros: my computer was infected and it could not be cleaned by any anti-virus program and tools. I used AppRanger and cleaned it. Support was good and AppRanger people explained me how to remove the virus. In less than 20 minutes I was able to clean the computer. I recommend it as AppRanger works better than more expensive software and support is good.
Cons: The cleaning method was not obvious. I have to disable it when I want to download programs from some of the Internet sites.
