"converted file that was nearly 700MB into mpeg4 and it said movie was 14min long"

Cons: i've tried a few dvd to different handheld players and the Best Ive found so far is my Movo

"this is an fantastic software i have ever seen"

Pros: it can convert many video formats

Cons: it can't convert ipod's video format.

Version: Any Video Converter 2.10

"Converts old "green-screen" AVIs to playable videos"

Pros: I wanted this for a common problem: digital camera AVI's that wouldn't play correctly in anything but Quicktime (the green screen of futility in Windows Media Player). Yeah, yeah, I tried downloading codexes (codeces) but that didn't work. This did, no fuss, unlike other free converters I tried. A nice little touch: the default output folder is in My Documents, unlike many other programs that bury it in Program Files.

Cons: Expects ~800 pixels display height
