Basically a souped-up version of Windows' built-in sound recorder, Anewsoft MP3 Recorder still offers enough extras to be worth the time. This utility encodes MP3s and WAVs on the fly from a variety of sources such as a microphone, a CD player, or a telephone. The space-efficient interface is straightforward and features small icons for accessing just about every function. Anewsoft MP3 Recorder can encode VBR MP3s, which allows you to achieve better audio quality in a smaller file. You'll find an ID3 editor, faders for adjusting the incoming audio signal, and a scheduler. The latter can be especially useful for recording Internet audio streams, although we wished the program featured a voice-activation feature for easy memo taking. In our tests, the sound quality was decent, but we were still glad to find settings for adjusting audio quality and bit rate. When all is said and done, the only real bummer here is the 30-second trial restriction on recordings. Anewsoft MP3 Recorder will especially suit users who want to digitize their old LPs and tapes.Publisher's description

Version: Anewsoft MP3 Recorder 2.0
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Low quality, cheap program. Not recommended. The lousy thing only limits you to 30 seconds in the trial version...hmm...not a very good test.
