Version: Alibre Design Xpress 11
"It's free and does 3d that's about it"
Pros: free, 3d parametric
Cons: Sketching is horrendous, nothing is positioned so that you can easily create sketches, creating sketch mates is just painful, Can't add dimensions to splines, View shaded with visible edges completely ignores me and shows only the shaded model.
Summary: It's free but if you really want to do 3D CAD I'd go with Solidworks in a heartbeat. Overall after using Solidworks, Alibre just does nothing to help you efficiently create models, you may have to pay more for features in Solidworks but it is well w... read more >>

Version: Alibre Design Xpress 11
"Excellent CAD Software for Free"
Pros: I can't believe this free software is parametric solid modeler. You can't find it, I mean parametric modeler, anywhere for free. This type of software is known to be expensive and not made for home use or hobby.
Cons: There are some key features and workspaces in the software that are grey out or not available, such as shelling feature and 2-D drawing/detailing. They are reserved for paid package.
Summary: I'm a professional CAD designer, using several parametric and sophisticate CAD/CAM/CAE software for over 25 years. I wished to have an affordable parametric software for my home use...until Alibre Xpress came up in my google search. I was delighte... read more >>

Version: Alibre Design Xpress 11
Pros: Free. If that's enough, it's a decent program to.
Cons: What you gets a 30 day free trial, you have to go through a rather lengthy activation to get the "Xpress" version, which is feature-limited to the extreme.
Summary: Worth a go.

Version: Alibre Design Xpress 11
Pros: don't know, I couldn't register it because I couldn't get online after the install.
Cons: I didn't get any virus warnings, but my system crashed several times until I got rid of the program and did a system restore.
Summary: SUCKS - BAD PROGRAMMING - LOSING TRUST IN download.com
