Publisher's description
From Agnitum :Powerful combination of firewall and antispyware to address latest Internet security problems. Agnitum's Outpost PRO protects you from hackers, malware, ID thefts, unwelcome connections and other threats.
Version 4.0 "knows" virtually all data theft techniques in use today by trojans, spyware, worms, viruses and other malware. Use of these data theft techniques can be simulated with so-called "leak tests"--special utilities that test how well personal firewalls prevent data leakage. Currently 18 leak tests are available, and several new ones are in development.

Version: Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 4.0.1007.7323
Pros: This firewall works as good as Zonealarm pro.Good interface.Blocks hackers and intrusions and provides inbound and outbound protection. It can resist direct attacks against firewall.Passed most of the firewall tests. It also provides protection against Trojans and spyware.
Cons: It didn't work well with some antivirus and antispyware programs.

Version: Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 4.0.1007.7323
Pros: It installed and uninstalled without problems and seemed to function as said.
Cons: I consider myself quite experienced in using software but here I found the interface hard to understand and the messages most confusing. It is difficult to decide which option to go for when a decision is to be made. The learning process is very time consuming. The user interface needs a complete redesign to make it as easy to use as possible. ZoneAlarm and Sygate would be good examples to follow.

"Passed all leak tests. Additional set up needed for some firewalls."
Pros: You can configure it according to your needs. I checked and it passed all leak tests. In my opinion it is easy to use.
Cons: Takes too much resources.

Version: Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 4.0.1007.7323
Pros: I truly don't understand how some people can say this software is not user friendly. On the contrary, It is extremely user friendly. It has a clean and straight forward interface. All the options are there in front of your face to with them whatever you wish. Of course, if you don't know what to do with them, that's a different story.
Outpost firewall comes loaded with pre-defined rules, meaning that it automatically makes adjustments so that most of your programs that access the internet, can do so with very little if not without any intervention at all from the user. Beyond that, it allows you to create your own rules, a process which can be a bit cryptic at first but if you think about what the software does, it all makes sense right away. I'm not a systems admin by any means, btw.
Finally, the plugins... Outpost's answer to logging. Great and highly customizable... Say your computer encounters a lot of Rst attack attempts, well you can create a filter (or preset) under the Attack Detection plugin that tells you how many Rst attacks attempts you've received in the last 5 minutes... You can also customize the plugin to define how it behaves. It's really quite easy.
Cons: I've owned Outpost for almost a year and has worked great for me. My only complaint is that I noticed for the first time and as of a few days ago, Outpost suddenly was consuming large amounts of memory (150Mb roughly) and behaving very slowly. Clicking its menus and trying to access its options would take about 20 sec delay before responding. I thought that was odd. I looked in forums and no one seems to mention anything about this issue.
Mind you, the issue was happening with the previous version. Everything seems to be back to normal after upgrading to a new version (4.0.1024.700) than the one posted here (4.0.1007.591 - the version number in the title is actually incorrect, too)
I still give it a 5 stars because overall, it is one of the best firewall softwares I've tried... cheers.
