This firewall offers the rare combination of a powerful feature set and an easy-to-use design. During installation, the program finds all network-enabled applications on your PC and lets you set security policies for each. This eliminates the endless pop-up boxes you get with many firewalls, wherein you must allow or disallow certain processes from accessing your machine. We appreciate the ability to fine-tune all aspects of network usage using rules, and the easy-to-analyze logs are another big plus. In our tests, the firewall demonstrated good performance, successfully blocking several Trojan horses from our PC. Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro also enhances your Web-surfing experience by blocking pop-ups, Flash ads, and banners, as well as potentially dangerous elements on pages. Persons looking for a robust yet low-maintenance firewall should take a close look at Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro.Publisher's description
From Agnitum :Powerful combination of firewall and antispyware to address latest Internet security problems. Agnitum's Outpost PRO protects you from hackers, malware, ID thefts, unwelcome connections. It starts protecting the host system immediately after it's installed. The program detects and blocks hacker attacks, guards the privacy of data stored on your computer, monitors network activity of your system and applications, provides clean web surfing and prevents malware from activating on your computer. Outpost places your computer in a stealth mode, making it invisible to hackers so that they cannot verify your machine is present on a network and subsequently launch attacks on it. In addition, the program allows the removal of annoying pop-up windows and prevents websites from tracking where you surf. To ensure that you have the latest protection in place, Outpost Firewall PRO is regularly updated via its dedicated update service.

Version: Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 3.51.759.462
"A bit heavy on system-resources.."
Pros: but an excellent product....too heavy for my 256M, so I downgraded to the free-version which is actually the easiest on ram that I've found. (other than windows f/w) I found the ability to define the ruleset much "tighter" than ZA!
Cons: already have enough s/w-scanners, so this just weighed my system down....if it out-performed A2 & SuperAntiSpyware, I'd consider the switch!

"Good software down to competitors"
Pros: Does exactly what a firewall has to do, nothing special otherwise.
Cheaper than some firewall products.
Cons: Use loads of system resources ending up crashin your system in the midway of your project.Certainly not suited for low configuration computers.
lags behing flexibility Zone Alarm can offer as a firewall and pc-cillin as free product.
No good if you gonna upload loads of thing in the net as it might crach the system in the middle making you re upload everything.
Certainly not suitable for novice and neither does a great work to satisfy Experts.
If I had to pay money for the product I would rather pay a little bit extra for comfort and satisfaction rather than reducing the money to sacrifice both.
If You gonna look as a package try Norton, if you gonna try firewall try Zone Alarm or Pc-cillin.

"It is desgined nicely and good program"
Pros: Nice and clean interface and matches to the standards of ZOnealarm internet security Suite. Keeps bas stuff out and good stuff in... what else could I say? 15days trial is fair enough and it should be no more than that. Nothing should be free for a good software
Cons: Maybe Zonealarm Internet Security Suite has a better reputation allthough it is more expensive. This is more cheaper than Zonealarm

"Great firewall and anti-spyware is actually good too!"
Pros: I use this firewall right now, and it's anti-spyware detected 6 threats that Trend Micro Anti-Spyware didn't.
It is VERY customizable and I have had no problems since it's install.
Cons: As far as I know, none. However, this doesn't mean there isn't any, I might find one or more ;)

"Crashed my little computer less then 1 star!!"
Pros: Was easy to use almost like Zone Alarm for servers.
Cons: My little computer is a quad processor Dell Server running Windows 2003.
I installed this because no one seems to make a decent firewall for servers. this one is no exception! It is junk it does not work, it kept dumping the kernal write a log and reboot, the 3rd time it did this I was bidding on a computer on eBay and in a heated bidding war with 2 minutes left this POS dumped the kernal, wrote a log and rebooted windows!! It takes more then 2 minutes to reboot a server and especially in Windows 2003, luckily my last bid was good enough to win the item and the stupid POS firewall was removed, during the uninstall it wanted me to fill out a on line form explaining why I was uninstalling their trash...I mean product, I was not as nice there as I am here! BTW I just bought another server, they make great power user computers!
