This firewall offers the rare combination of a powerful feature set and an easy-to-use design. During installation, the program finds all network-enabled applications on your PC and lets you set security policies for each. This eliminates the endless pop-up boxes you get with many firewalls, wherein you must allow or disallow certain processes from accessing your machine. We appreciate the ability to fine-tune all aspects of network usage using rules, and the easy-to-analyze logs are another big plus. In our tests, the firewall demonstrated good performance, successfully blocking several Trojan horses from our PC. Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro also enhances your Web-surfing experience by blocking pop-ups, Flash ads, and banners, as well as potentially dangerous elements on pages. "My Favorite Firewall (lavasoft made their firewall from this I assume)"
Pros: Five different policies avalible:
Disable
Allow most
Rules wizard
Block most
Stop all
This product also comes with realtime spyware protection.
Easy to use with its explorer like style.
Most defualt setting have no need to be changed.
Not a memmory hog.
Has a quicktime plugin for Internet Explorer that speeds it up by blocking ads popups.
Cons: The spyware protection caught a false positive in my Restricted sites (Sgrunt) during the antispyware scan but you can just click ignore when it happends

"Very Good and Updated Firewall!"
Pros: I am using: Outpost Firewall Pro 3.51.748.6419 (462). This Firewall has a very good interface. It is not simple, but yet very intuitive and informative. Outpost has good compatibility with other manufacturer's anti-virus and general applications. It does not hog my system resources (neither memory, processor nor start-up). Its built-in spyware detection tool is good, but you can disable it if you have your own trusted spyware tool, as well, you can use it with or own trusted anti-virus. It has passed all ShieldsUp and PC Flank tests (that is very good). For last let me say it has its own built-in software behavior presets (all configurable as well). It is updated what is pretty important.
Cons: Its interface could scare some people at first sight. Please do not let it take you out! Try it! You will see it is not hard to learn and configure. Go ahead and see it by yourself.
