This firewall offers the rare combination of a powerful feature set and an easy-to-use design. During installation, the program finds all network-enabled applications on your PC and lets you set security policies for each. This eliminates the endless pop-up boxes you get with many firewalls, wherein you must allow or disallow certain processes from accessing your machine. We appreciate the ability to fine-tune all aspects of network usage using rules, and the easy-to-analyze logs are another big plus. In our tests, the firewall demonstrated good performance, successfully blocking several Trojan horses from our PC. Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro also enhances your Web-surfing experience by blocking pop-ups, Flash ads, and banners, as well as potentially dangerous elements on pages. Pros: This was recommended to me by a security professional in the banking industry,I also saw many 5star reviews from PC mags around the world.I was an ardent Zone Labs user (was)!,but having been let down needed to change.This firewall is simply the best I have seen,it works, and it is so easy to set up and use. IMHO it is far superior to Zone Alarm Pro and my PC runs much better since I have switched product.
There is a wealth of information available from the logs if you want it, more comprehensive than I have seen on any other firewall ,and I checked out plenty before I parted with my money!!
Cons: Cons? Haven't found any yet!
I saw some previous reviewers saying this program crashed or slowed their PC's but did they follow the install instructions? If you do not close all other programs properly first and in particular UNINSTALL
any previous firewall you will get problems,and that goes for most other software as I have found out to my cost in the past, if they say close other applications take the time to do it,this will save most of the problems .

"If you're looking for The Number 1 personal firewall, look no further!!!"
Pros: This has to be one of the best (but not very well known) firewalls available. It has a very simple user interface and yet offers a lot more protection than Sygate or Zone Alarm! Outpost has my thumbs up anyway! (There's a free version as well)!

"Ver good firewall but with a few minor issues."
Pros: As far as I can tell, this firewall filters incoming and outgoing data better than any other product on the market. Its logging capabilites are first rate, and with its plug-ins it blocks ads and pop-ups, scripts, cookies and active content if you want it too, as these features are fully customizable. Furthermore, if any allowed component changes, you are prompted to choose whether or not to continue allowing it access. Another user defined feature is anything that attempts to modify the pc's memory will trigger an alarm and Internet access will be blocked. Essentially, there's really nothing that even the most well written trojan can do to bypass this firewall's inpenetrable defences!
Cons: Unfortunately, this product will often block Internet access when using Fast User switching on XP. Even if one user forgets to log off and the screen saver kicks in, the firewall will block access for the next user that logs on, and either stopping and re-starting the firewall or re-booting the pc will correct the problem. If Agnitum can resolve this problem, they'll have the perfect firewall.

"Great, but making/changing filters is too complicated."
Pros: Network log shows all the traffic very simple.
Cons: Great, but making/changing filters is too complicated, too many submenus to get there.

"I 'm using it for 1year : no problem! Super secure!"
Pros: Plug-in very good! Very easy to set ( pre-defined firewall's ruleset), and easy to manage it!
Cons: If this comes with an antivirus or anti-trojan within ... would be great!
