Because its gameplay stays true to its genre, Age of Mythology can immediately be played by any real-time strategy fan. The game's excellent tutorial and streamlined interface make it even easier to learn. Adding ancient Greek to the mix offers a few new tricks, however. The best is access to God-like powers such as weather control and resurrection; along with the usual strategy tasks such as training soldiers and gathering supplies, the decision of when to use these extra powers adds an intriguing level of strategy. Once installed, the demo reigns over nearly 500MB of drive space. Thankfully, it's packed with top-notch graphics, an inspiring soundtrack, and enough single-player campaigns to justify the resources it consumes. Arcade and puzzle fans should probably skip the mammoth download, but anyone with at least a passing interest in real-time strategy should consider this a must-have.Publisher's Description

Age of Mythology preserves the familiar elements popular in previous Age of Empires games. Wonders, civilization bonuses, technology trees, resource gathering, empire building, and large armies clashing on fields of battle all are at the heart of the game. At the same time, a number of entirely new gameplay features are introduced.
In Age of Mythology, players wage war using human armies and diplomacy, enhance military and economic performance, and manage economics through resource gathering and trade. Mythology enters the mix when players call upon the gods to act on their behalf, or to reinforce their armies with more than 20 mythological creatures.
In the trial version, you can wield Zeus's famous lightning bolt while playing in one of the nine civilizations featured in the retail version. Advance through the third age on two random maps, or play through five scenarios in this demo.

This is a terrific game that does Age of Empires? Proud, it has a great campaign series and very effective gods and god powers, as well as hero units and Mythical Units. Try buying the full version before judging!

Yes, the Download trial only has the first three ages, but hey, they wouldn't make money if the trial had it all. Try buying the full version before judging it completely!

I have the real game now, after i got this i got it. It is a great start when you want to try the game out, good campagines and the best god (In my opinion) zeus, good start. For people who haven't tryed this game, there is one thing i can say and that is that this game really gone over the line for perfect games, it is an extreamly good game, i wish you good luck in the game. Hope you enjoy.

civiliar population is only resource gathers. I would have them support a city state with demand for supplies. after winning of course.

I own the real game. In the demo u can't advance past the third age. The real game has 16 gods and 5 ages. The last one (the 5th) is my favorite because you can get huge, 50 foot tall titans which are near to indestuctible (unless you attack it with another Titan) and will destroy everything the touch. I reccommend You go out and by the game. I'm totally addictied.
