This adware killer fails to actively compete with similar programs because of its poky and unreliable performance. In our testing, even running a quick scan took almost 15 minutes and produced disappointing results, only identifying about half the adware we installed for testing purposes. The Active Monitor feature likewise was powerless against certain programs.We assume these performance issues are due to the fact the trial version doesn't let you update its database of known malware. The interface is pretty standard for this kind of software, though it's somewhat more attractive than many competitors. All things considered, we'd point most users to a spyware app that's faster and more accurate.

Version: Adware Spy 4
Pros: Check "Spyware Warrior" and you will find this application listed as rogue, suspect. I was kind of hoping these rogue type anti spyware programs had been removed from download.com. I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole!

Cons: Since I downloaded this program, my PC has been dragging. I ran the Anti-spy program on the Yahoo toolbar, and it reported that I had a TROJAN. I then downloaded SpyBit, and it identifies this program as MALWARE. It describes the program as "supposed to be spyware", but "finds non-existent threads to make the user but the software." If it walks like duck, and it talks like duck......

Pros: zero--spybot flagged it and did not install further.
Cons: Spybot S&D and A-squared free both declare it is dangerous. DO NOT INSTALL!
Summary: Did not use. Surprised it is an "approved" Microsoft IE add-on.

"I never used this program but my Norton Anti-Virus said it was a threat."
Cons: I was downloading this software just to try it out. After it had downloaded my Norton Anti-virus detected it and said it was a threat. Even though it probably isn't malicious software, it was a security vulnerability.
