This isn't the most feature-packed Windows-optimization utility, nor the most effective, but we found it one of the easiest to control. Advanced WindowsCare's simple interface offers two main options: Repair and Repair And Optimize. The former fixes Registry entries and cleans out your operating system. The latter does the same thing and tweaks Windows for maximum performance.
If you run into trouble, the Restoration option can return your system to its original configuration. The Advanced menu provides fine control over repairs and optimizations. On the downside, we noticed only one improvement on our test PC: a reduced amount of used RAM. Also, the program's brief descriptions of system problems may not satisfy seasoned users. And although the latest version of the app includes a help file, we wouldn't call it extensive.
Nevertheless, if your system is running sluggishly and you're considering reinstalling Windows, it wouldn't hurt to try this freeware package first.

Cons: i have had trouble with this app.with it being id as spyware or a virus...site advisor has this in red as a bad site

Pros: First off, let me clear up the Siteadvisor issue. Advanced Windows Care, nor any other download from IObit contains spyware, adware, or any other malicious type programs. If you read the site details for iobit on Siteadvisor it states that their downloads are safe, the reason they are marked in red by Siteadvisor is because their site contains links on their Awards page to download sites that contain programs which have malware in them. So, Advanced Windows Care DOES NOT contain any spyware, adware or any malware. With that said lets talk about the program itself.
This is a very good, simple to use freeware program that optimizes your windows configuration and produces excellent results.
I ran this on two computers, the first had already been manually configured for optimum use, the second was a straight windows install with no tweaks. I observed an increase in speed on both computers, a slight increase on the first and a dramatic increase on the second. No harm or negative effects were found on either machine.
The program is simple to use, just one click to analyze and another to repair and optimize. The program gives you the option of selecting which improvements you wish to make before making repairs, and has an option to restore your previous configuration if the repairs were not helpful for whatever reason. Any user regardless of skill can use this program, with the exception of the startup items option. If you are not a computer professional you are best off not changing your startup items.
Cons: A warning should be placed on the startup items option; a wrong decision can really hurt your computer.
From an advanced user's standpoint I would have liked it to detail a bit more of what settings it is optimizing and repairing rather then just categorizing them. This really won't matter to a novice user, but advanced users usually like more info.

"What a pwetty blue-screen-of-death"
Pros: ~Pwetty interface. period. all that is good about this product.
Cons: Optimized my Windows 2K SP4 so much that it would not even boot up... I would get a stupid blue screen that said 'stop error' with some hex code thingy... use WinAso Optimizer... It is much better than this. Because of this product i had to re-install Windows 2000...

Cons: The install program instantly reboots my computer (XP home edition). I never had an install do this before. So for me it only reboots and does not install anything.

Pros: it was a nice little tool, I am sad I can not get this version working.
Cons: It won't work because it is missing framedyn.dll. I tried installing it from its home page and the alternate site given. Still the same issue. :(
