CNET Editors' review
Advanced SystemCare Free 5 uses its powerful arsenal of optimization tools to keep your PC feeling fresh and clean. It also includes a couple of features that could help boost performance for either gaming or work purposes--your choice.
Advanced SystemCare's Quick Care option includes the ability to clean your registry, perform a rudimentary malware scan, fix and remove broken shortcuts, delete junk files, and erase browsing tracks. It works in a flash, requires almost no user input, and to make things even easier, can be configured to run on system startup.
The Deep Care option, on the other hand, takes system care to another level. It performs all of the Quick Care items to a much deeper degree, plus it adds several other scans and fixes to its checklist, including disk defragmenting, a Windows vulnerability fix, and a system optimization with several presets. Understandably, this kind of deep digging can sometimes make a user nervous. Fortunately, the program's log records all of its activities, letting you see how each affects your computer.
Scan times for the Quick Care and Deep Care options differ significantly, yet, both processes still seem blazingly fast. For instance, we completed a Deep Care scan in approximately 15 minutes, which is an impressively short time for a system-invasive program like this.
Brand-new to version 5 is the Active Boost function, which runs in the background and automatically improves PC performance by managing your system resources. We recommend enabling it, as it even keeps a log of all the active processes that it manages to speed up. Also important, Version 5 connects to the cloud in order to keep its database up to date.
As for Advanced SystemCare's user interface, we were impressed, to say the least. The main dashboard is superclean, with nifty icons and intuitive navigation. Plus, there's an unimposing smiley face always at the bottom of the screen, indicating your PC's overall health. If you click the Status button next to the smiley, you can also get more detailed info from the system performance monitor.
One part of the program we recommend new users approach with extreme caution is the Turbo Boost, which can be set to optimize for either gaming or work purposes. It sounds fun, but you must first configure the tool by telling it which core system services to disable in order to accelerate your computer's performance. Since the Turbo Boost section doesn't spell out how disabling these services might affect your computer, we highly recommend doing your research before exploring. To its credit, though, Advanced SystemCare can create rescue points, so it's not hard to undo changes if you end up making any mistakes.
One small problem we found was that some of the program's options open in new windows, while others open in the same window. Those in the same window have convenient back-navigation buttons in the upper left; those in new windows are sometimes overlaid directly on top of the previous window and make it hard to see how to return to the previous screen. Also, we were a bit turned off by the cleverly disguised ad for Roboform Password Manager during installation. It looks a bit like a terms-of-service sheet, so be sure to read carefully before your instincts kick in and you automatically click Accept.
Overall, we love Advanced SystemCare's toolset, performance, and convenience. Sure, we wish the program were more explicit about how it changes your computer, but we still think it's an awesome all-in-one system utility, and we highly recommend downloading it.

Summary
Did you ever notice how XP seems to develop a lag with it's operations. For instance Click on Start, Click on Programs... I don't know about you but it would take quite a while before my Programs showed up on the screen. Things always seemed to be churning. Even with a competitor product that I had been using for years... SS12... it was getting worse. SS12 itself seemed to be bogging things down. Some of their apps were having issues. I had to uninstall it and get a refund.
I installed ASC and inside of 2 days paid for the upgrade. I knew it was going to work for me and it has. My "Programs" pop on to the screen a lot faster, very noticeable. That's my benchmark. If that's working fine then I know everything else is going to be snappy as well... and it is.
I also use the Unlocker... finally one that works great. I can now move multiple Quicktime files, unlocking them all, and moving them all, instead of one at a time... I use the Uninstaller. I'm not using the Malware fighter. I'm trying out Avast at this time.
Got to keep it short now... got to go eat... GET ASC! GET THE UPGRADE. MAKE THINGS A LITTLE SMOOTHER AND FASTER FOR YOURSELF. XP needs all the help it can get... who's not with me on that???
ASC WORKS! -

"Great Product!"
Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 5.1
Pros
This product runs really fast and cleans up all those registry, privacy, and temp files. Luckily it hasn't found any viruses or trojans on my laptops yet because I had good anti-virus software. One of my laptops ran extremely slow and it now runs much faster.
Cons
None found so far.

"Solution: Advanced SystemCare Free 5.1 - Excellent"
Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 5.1
Pros
It probably is the best free all in one Tune-up Software.
It warns users that solid state drives should not (never) be de-fragmented (because, it substantially reduce the life) with consistent use.
The colour scheme blue = free (features).
The ORANGE(features):
1) Keeps annoyingly asking to pay to be upgrade to the Pro version
2) For example reduced from about 1,132 to 820
But, the BLUE features carried out a proper job and cleared all.
Based on some reviews the free version maybe better than the Pro version despite the hype.Cons
1: Wasted vast amounts of time to be able to use it properly and side step the spam/phishing trying to get me to pay for the Pro version.
Like most things there was a simple solution choose the blue features only.Summary
Some of the things I do:
I now use it with usually; 1) CCleaner, 2) Defraggler, (Norton Utility Disk is probably useless (in my opinion) got free when purchased Norton Internet Security 2011), 3) Start\Run Box\ Pre-fetch\Delete Files\, 4)Start\Run Box\%temp%\Delete Files, 5) Right Click my main C:\ (drive)\Properties and use; 5a)Disk Clean-up and 5b)More Options, 5c)Tools Error-checking
Before I forget, I would normally always clean until junk is cleared first and only then de-fragment hard disk drives (HDD), because faster, but, now NEVER de-fragment a Solid State Drive (SSD). Best practice is also to de-fragment before downloading a large application on a HDD.
There are other things I do:
6a) Reduce files in the start-up program - Start\Run box\MSConfig
6b) The problem which I then have is how do I find out which things can be safely deleted or disabled. But, one of the website which I use is http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/m/1/
7) Some other diagnostic tools which I use are;
7a) YouTube, 7b)Companies purchased products (Purchased computer from, Internet Security company) - 7c)Reduce price of telephone calls where possible; use www.saynoto0870.com, 7d)Get one department, to transfer calls to another department,
7e) Websites (including Chat and Forums), Searching for information about words or things using a browser for example Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
8)The last thing which I want to mention is the help feature within applications are useful: for example if I had a Microsoft's Word problem I also have the two options; Help feature and in Office 2007 Office (red, yellow, green and blue - top left hand corner) button and going into 'Word Option'. -
"Good product for free."
Version: Advanced SystemCare Free 5.1
Pros
Very easy to use.
Cons
Free version does not fix enough registry errors.
Summary
Try it, you will like it.
