The worst thing-- it made the program unusable-- was that the interface window is too big! The button to process the pdf doc (I wanted to convert a pdf to text) is below the screen. Hitting 'Enter' doesn't work either.Summary

Advanced PDF Utilities Free enables me to send Company Reports by email as the size of the pdf files are 1/10 of the original file.
The built-in pdf converter in MSOffice 2010 is useless as file size is the same as the original doc which could be as large as 21mb so I can't send the PDF report by email.
Advanced PDF Utilities Free converts a 21mb MSWord doc to a 1.5mb pdf file which is perfect for emailing reports. -

I wanted this program to read a scanned in pdf. I tried the OCR option and it showed the most random array of characters that resemble no language dead or alive. The preview of the pdf (before selecting the OCR) was really poor and virtually unreadable but in Adobe Reader the same scanned PDF looks pristine. I also tried the Convert to Word option but it opened a blank document (!). Also beware that this programme will try to install random search engines/toolbars during the installation on your computer!

Amazing product for free. I had started writing a review saying it wouldn't open password protected documents due to getting no feedback when trying it, but I just wasn't being patient enough.
It loaded my 133 page document after a while, and performed great OCR on the page.
The interface is very easy and intuitive.
I'm finding myself flipping between Acrobat and hitting the "next page" button a lot in a 133 page document. Overall - love it for free. -

I compared this product to OCR Free and SuperGeek OCR which seemed like they were made by the same company (they had the exact same icons), however this version had more capabilities than those others. It was pretty intuitive. Helped get the job done!
Cons
The images that I uploaded and scanned on the software weren't turned to text. However, if I turned the original scanned image to ocr first, it gave me great results. I had the same problem converting files to pdfs: originally scanned pics or pdfs were turned to text easily and even transferred to Word documents. Selection tool didn't seem to work too well.
Summary
The interface is intuitive, it does turn images and pdfs to text and even put them directly into Word document. Compared to OCRfree and SuperGeek OCR, this had more features with the same success. I'd recommend downloading it to convert your imagaes and pdfs to editable text or Word documents.

Sometimes the zooming of OCR doesn't work & I need to restart the PDF. It is not a huge issue as it happens rarely, but if you could fix this that would be great.
Summary
It got over 10 PDF related features to meet most of my needs for home and office. It allows carrying out a number of activities, including converting PDF to images and text, generate PDF from scanned documents and images, splitting and merging documents, page extraction and even OCR.
I deal with a lot of paper work and always need to transfer them through PDF. After buying some other PDF apps I found that I need a program that does all things so I stop purchasing software with single feature one after another.
It can convert PDF to TXT and Word. It does not convert PDF to Word directly but launch the Word to paste all the converted contents. The page range selection feature is quite practical. What I love most about the splitter is it can merge the page of your choice into one PDF. I can always use that to remove some unneeded stuff and make PDF smaller.
I've just used it for several days and haven't tried all the features. So far all the result files are good, for reading, print-out or sending emails. The operation is easy enough and I think even a user without lots of experience can master it. I got nothing bad to say about it. Hope you guys provide a new version for Mac too.
