Version: Advanced DVD Player 2

"Fills a niche important to me: will play DVD videos from my settop recorder!"

Pros: I've spent 3 days now looking for a media player that will play DVDs I recorded from TV. This is one of very few that will play the format reliably at SP and SLP recording quality.

Cons: Everything the CNET editors complained of it true. Plus it can't handle my DVD videos if there are mixes of recording quality among the titles, and it has no ability to show closed captions. There's no button to get back to the Title Menu, but I found a work-around. Click STOP, then PLAY. However, this highlights another drawback, no user guide in the Help menu.
