Pros
After having testes several solution, I dicided to use Advanced BAT to EXE Converter for my update solution. It is simple and the settings are stored within the BAT file as remarks. No additional ini or setup file needed. Good solution, indeed. The basic version is freeware and in most cases nothing else than this one-workplace version is needed.
I once had an issue where a command was not correctly converted, but after sending an e-mail, some days later an updated version was available. Perfect feedback!Cons
The Programme design is very basic and still looks like a Windows 98 or XP solution. It would need some face lifting. But it works - and that's what counts!
Summary
Everybody who needs to use batch files on a regularly basis should consider using Advanced BAT to EXE Converter - this programme (or may we call it "app") makes the work with batch files simple and straight forward.
I should add that I am using the compiler mostly on one computer - therefore I only once had the need to use the EXE on another Computer - which needs the PRO version - I just downloaded another free version and re-converted the batch file. Done!

Pros
I've tried several BAT to EXE compilers and this one seems to work best of all. The one I had been using would occasionally fail when compiling 'invisible.' This one has no problem whatsoever. Great for fairly simple batch conversions, but if you need something more powerful, the Pro version is available at a very reasonable price. Another side benefit is that it will run from a USB drive, so you may carry it with you.

None that I have found so far.

Summary
Forgive me for sounding like an ungrateful idiot (it IS free, after all). Yes, the UI does look like a dog's butt -- I wouldn't care, so long as it does its job. And it apparently DOES do its job...it compiles, and the resultant app runs seemingly properly.
Until, of course...you take your new .EXE and try to deploy it on a different system from the one where you have this crappy product installed. (Go ahead, try it, I'll wait.)
You get a wonderful pop-up message (and I quote): "You must buy the compiler before you can distribute the applications." WHAT? Is this mentioned anywhere obvious, say, in a large font type across the top of the application? No!
For this behaviour, this product would get NO stars, if I could rate it that low! -
