CNET Editors' review
The new version of this indispensable product doesn't introduce revolutionary changes, but it doesn't have to. As the low-end PDF reader, it simply keeps up with Acrobat Professional and Standard. This release adds the ability to play back embedded multimedia files in MP3, QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, Real, and Windows Media formats, as well as to submit Adobe PDF forms. It also replaces some of the icons in the default interface with optional, dockable toolbars. You might as well install this now before a Web site you visit prompts you to download it, because you'll need it.Publisher's Description
From Adobe Systems:
Acrobat Reader lets you read and print from any system any document created as an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file, with its original appearance preserved. PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as the author intended by anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
What's new in this version: The Adobe Reader 6.0.2 update addresses multiple known issues in Adobe Reader 6.0, including support for forms that use Adobe's XML forms architecture, creation of barcode-enabled forms, and a security update. For more information, see the technical document describing the 6.0.2 update in the Support Knowledgebase.

"Use it everyday at work and it is awful."
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
Nice new layout, looks really smart. That's it on the Pros.
Cons
First of all, I need it to print A3 drawings so sometimes I need to zoom in and a print a small section rather large. Now I can't I can either have the whole drawing or a small box from bang in the middle. Also when I scan any document in I open it as a .pdf and then save it, but now because of "adobe **** X" I have to save it twice because the first time I get a box pop up every time saying "Access Denied". Also other people at work are having problems with it closeing when they go to print.
Summary
Overall don't bother updating it, I am using the only computer at work now that hasn't been updated. DON'T DOWNLOAD.!

"Painfully slow. Nonfunctional on case-sensitive HFS+"
Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader 10.1.1
Pros
The only good thing about Acrobat X is its annotation functionality. Unfortunately, in version X, that functionality is so slow in practical use so as to largely invalidate its mention as a pro. Acrobat 8 was much, much faster, but unfortunately was more crash-prone. For example, it reliably crashed if you set it to hide "done" comments, then clicked the "done" checkbox while the insertion point was still inside that comment. Unfortunately, it looks like they fixed that crash by making it so the content no longer disappears when you click "done". Thus, Acrobat X is a pretty serious step backwards in terms of overall usability for my purposes.
Cons
The annotation functionality was completely nonfunctional on my machine as built because, much as with their flagship Photoshop product, Adobe can't be bothered to actually test their software on computers with case-sensitive boot volumes. Until they fix this mess, you can get it working by issuing the following commands:
cd "/Applications/Adobe Reader.app/Contents/Built-in"
ln -s WebLink.acroplugin Weblink.acroplugin
cd "/Applications/Adobe Reader.app/Contents/MacOS/Preferences/"
ln -s FeatureLockDown FeatureLockdown
That said, if you have a choice, I'd suggest downgrading to an earlier version instead. Better yet, use a different PDF reader. -
