Publisher's description of Adium X 0.84
From Adam Iser:The Adium team is proud to present to you Adium X, a multiple-protocol instant-messaging client. This is a culmination of a yearlong rewrite of Adium, which now utilizes Libgaim (the core part of GAIM) to connect to multiple protocols, and also is based on a new plug-in architecture. Partial address-book integration, cool-looking tabs, multiple protocols for instant messaging, and a compact contact list are some of the many features of the new Adium X. Some core features include support for AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, Trepia, Napster, and Gadu-Gadu; unlimited accounts; as many names on as many services as you want; draggable tabs; any number of tabs in any number of windows; highly customizable yet intuitive preferences; address-book integration; iTunes and other AppleScript substitution buddy icons and away messages in AIM; and the beginnings of file-transfer support for AIM, Yahoo, and Jabber.

Version: Adium X 0.84
Pros: Well much better then AIM for Mac and MSN
Cons: Ok all first of all adium now has 0.86 so go do a google search to get the newest version. Second...ichat and aMSN. if you only have 3 screenames like me (1 MSN and 2 AIM) then you shouldnt download this product. Its great and its the best multiprotocal IM for mac. But i recommend aMSN and ichat witch comes installed on all OS X macs. aMSN allows u to send files....webcam....audio thru the MSN servers. and so does ichat with AIM. So its up to u. I give this app 5 stars though

"The BEST Chat program available for Mac or PC"
Pros: Adium X provides an execelent and simple user interface as well as many options that add to the experence. Almost every feature is easily customizeable, from sound sets and dock icons, to the message styles and scripts, I can make everything mine. It interacts flawlessly with AIM (which is what I mostly use) and allows me to tab between people who I'm talking with.
Cons: I have had some problems switching between using Adium on my Mac and AIM on my PC, when I switch back to using the medevil windows my buddy list will have some names out of order, and since Adium X will allow me to use aliases I always know who I am talking to, not so when I go back to AIM.

Version: Adium X 0.84
Pros: The only iffy bits of this program since I downloaded a while back have all been rapidly fixed in newer versions. I have friends who use a plethora of different services from ICQ to MSN to Yahoo and Aim, and I can integrate and manage them all at once without the hassle of a different program for each one. I love my Adium and pity the windows fool who can't use it.
Cons: It's a little too easy to accidentally combine contacts and then have to figure out how to separate them; in my opinion arranging the contact list was a bit difficult at first to re-order. Goes quickly once you've the hang of it!
