Publisher's description
From The Adblock Crew :Adblock is a content filtering plug-in for the Mozilla and Firebird browsers. It is both more robust and more precise than the built-in image blocker. Adblock allows the user to specify filters, which remove unwanted content based on the source address. Just add a few filters. Every time a Web page loads, Adblock will intercept and disable the elements matching your filters.
CNET Editor's Note: The Download Now link will prompt a local download of the Firefox extension. To install the extension directly, open the file using your Firefox browser.

Version: Adblock 0.5.3.042
Pros: With the amount of anti-spyware software and pop-up blockers on my computer, Adblock (or Adblock Plus if you download it) is the perfect outer filter from ads.

Version: Adblock 0.5.3.042
Pros: Block ads from a website, suggest you download it on
addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/
Cons: I wish it could block them permanently and easier

Version: Adblock 0.5.3.042
Pros: I think this is a great idea in general.Who want's to see all those annoying ad's and blinking contest's that want your email to spam you. Also may even make your browsing safer because many of those viruses are developed around java and flash.
Cons: The one problem is that some content is legit. On sites like game sites it will block the trailer from playing.
Of coarse it has features within it's filtering that will allow/don't allow content from certain websites so I guess it's really a personal thing.Do you want to see those ads in return for time or would you rather not see the ads and spend a little more time messing with this thing.Your choice.

Version: Adblock 0.5.3.042
Pros: i have the adblock plus version which allows you to choose what sites you may or may not want to view ad content on (or other items that might be blocked but aren't ads). it has kept my homepage from driving me insane with their stupid banner ads along with ebay, etc. i don't know if regular adblock allows the option of allowing or not allowing ads. if not upgrade to the adblock plus version.
